hi all...i am semi-retired since oct. 2015. we moved to our home in the mountains of maine, and love life. my retirement puppy was put on hold for quite some time, but he's coming home in about 10 days. we live in doggy heaven here. human population is usually around 850......dog population is probably double that. i am looking forward to doing plenty of reading here, as it's been a long time since i have raised a pup.....my last one lived 14 years and was a great dog. than you in advance for sharing your experiences here.
Hi there Jack! A very warm welcome to you from me and Lilly, just about to retire off to bed here in Scotland. There is loads of useful information on here, but I can heartily recommend reading Pippa's The Happy Puppy Handbook before D-Day. An extremely valuable resource for new owners and older owners needing a refresher. Good luck with your puppy planning jac
Hi Jack and welcome to the forum. I split my time between the snowy mountains of Andorra and the countryside of Spain. It's a delight having dogs in rural locations. I assume that's your puppy in your avatar? Do you have a name for him yet - or is his name Jack?
Hi there and welcome. What a lucky puppy coming to live with you sounds like you will have a great time together x
Hi and welcome from me, 7yr old Lucan and 9wk old Ash. Riggins looks a sweetheart, bet you can't wait to get him home.
Riggins! I love it! Makes him sound like a scamp from Oliver Twist, although I suspect it probably has more to do with sports...
Welcome from fellow Mainers. Jubilee is my retirement puppy, too. She is two now, but still keeps me busy and active. I think you will be surprised how busy you will be with your pup. Don't loose your pup in all this snow! This is a great place for information and support.
Welcome Jack from Hattie 9 years and our rescue dog Charlie 6 years. Your location sounds like my idea of heaven, more dogs than humans - PERFECT!! Look forward to hearing all about Riggins. x
Hello Jack and "soon to be" Riggins! You must have at least two feet of snow up there! I live on Cape Cod with Cooper....almost 3 years old and my first dog ever! You will get a ton of info on this Forum .... anything you will go through we have all gone through! So make sure to get on the Forum every day and tell us how you are doing! Welcome!!!
i think we have received over 2 feet in the last couple weeks.....and we had several before that.....32 days til spring !!
Holy Cow!!! and still more Winter to go! Hope you love snow! Today our temp is 45 and it feels like Spring is in the air....although I know that could be a tease and we could have a snow storm or Nor'easter at any time!!!
