our 12 week old puppy hates her crate she won't go in even when will put treats in it for her. Today you managed to unlock one of the latches and squeeze her way out while we were gone. Any advice would be appreciated.
My puppy has been exactly the same. She's 12 weeks too. I spent a little bit of each day playing near the crate tossing toys in and interacting with her in the crate and throwing treats in and start saying a word or phrase that you'll use every time she goes in 'go to bed' and 'good girl/boy' so they know it's a positive thing.
There are some good tips on Crate Training on the main website - have you seen them? http://www.thelabradorsite.com/crate-training-your-labrador-puppy/
This isn't unusual. You can work hard to get them to love their crate - the link from Jacqui above is excellent. Or you can give up on the crate and use a puppy pen. I use a puppy pen as my pups need to be free in the kitchen with just a dog bed asap. Mollie already has no pen or crate at 20 weeks. I take the pen away once they are clean and dry in the night. So far - touch wood - we've had no furniture destruction from any of the five pups.
