I liked the German Wirehaired Pointer & the English Pointer in the Gundog group. I really don't like the look of the American Cocker..too "frou frou" for me, but it must have been the best conformation.

It's from a company called Peak and Brim, I wanted something plain and waterproof and this fits the bill, plus it's made in England. It is adjustable so it will fit whether my hair is up or down. Here is a rather poor selfie of me wearing it, looking somewhat like a mad women but at least you get the idea. :D:D IMG_2260.JPG

I liked the German Longhaired Pointer. Very smart. I thought the Lab in the group was lovely, too.

I was looking at hats like that when I was in the UK. In the end, I just got wet :D

Isn't it funny. I'd pick a GSP any day over the other pointers :D

Hattie is certainly fit and healthy, loves meeting new people so no problem at all :) We'll see, still feeling a little 'raw' from the experience, but I suppose if I volunteered I wouldn't have to leave the safety of the Pets as Therapy stand ;) x

Really, have you ever read my threads about Charlie and he's only half a GSP?:eek::eek::D I especially love all Pointers. I have a fascination for HPR's, but really love the Hungarian Vizsla's :) x

The clumbers are lovely. I'm so used to working labs that the proportions for showlines look almost exaggerated (no offence intended, they are of course beautiful dogs!) but I do love those clumbers.

Me too - I especially like the wirehaired vizslas, which are supposedly also a bit more laidback than the smooth-coated. I had actually reserved a wirehaired vizsla pup from a litter that then didn't take (the pups were "reabsorbed":eek:) It all worked out as I got my lovely Jess instead but I'm still considering a WHV for a second dog, when I feel up to another pup. Which might be a while!!

My two Clumbers look nothing like the show Clumbers I saw on telly yesterday. :D But neither do my springers or my cocker look anything like their show cousins.

I love German Shorthaired Pointers. I'm lucky enough to have one as a next-door neighbour for the next couple months as a couple from Ireland are here in my little community for the winter. But they also have reinforced why I didn't consider them for me - way, way too much energy. They are wonderful with her and take her out at least four hours a day of walks and wanders. It's pretty amazing what it takes to tire her out, though. I finally saw her looking a bit peeked yesterday, but that was apparently after 8 full hours of chasing seagulls and running through the marshes at the beach!

The choccie looks soft as butter. Both those tails are lush!
