I`ve had such fun this morning , Mummy got that noisy thing out , the thing that cuts the grass , I think its alive because it sort of growls ! She and Daddy had " words " because he said the grass was too wet, but she said it would rain later, so she was doing it anyway , she usually wins ! The noisy thing has a box on the back , but Mummy couldn't use it today because the grass was very wet, so she walked up and down, up and down , up and down and I followed her every step of the way , getting covered in green bits , grand fun it was until I trailed it right through the kitchen into the sitting room on onto the sofa , lots and lots of green bits that stick like glue ! Mummy sent me outside whilst she got the other noisy thing out to get rid of all the greenies , but I played in the clumps in the garden and then came in and spread it around all over again ! Looks quite pretty , I think , but Mummy isn't best pleased and Daddy kept saying " I told you so " , Mummy says he wont have any tea if he doesn't shut up ! Sam x

I've noticed this, too. Mummies always win, don't they? Even when Daddy thinks he's won, it's because Mummy set it up that way. Mummies are cunning. I want to be more like Mummy.

This is awful , really horrible ! My Mummy and Daddy are doing something they call nostaja , they are playing music from a long long time ago , and they are singing along to it , its truly awful . I mean, hows a dog supposed to sleep with all this racket going on ? Mummy even got up dancing , Daddy was singing at the top of his voice and then, you never guess what happened next ? He kissed Mummy , for heavens sake , get a room please if you need to behave like this in front of the child ! Sam , in distress x

Oh, Sam, if I were you, I'd get a phone and dial 999. I've heard that's what you have to do if you're in big trouble. This sounds BIG. Get that phone!

Last night I found something amazing! It is a really really big, heavy stick. I got super excited and tried carrying it, digging it, pushing it into the ground..it was SO heavy! Mum was trying to make me leave it, but I refused; how can you leave something so cool behind? She was saying it was really cold, and it was time to go home and a log isn't the same as a stick. Finally, she picked it up and BROUGHT IT HOME FOR ME! Now it's part of my stick collection on the porch with all my favourite sticks from my walks. Sometimes, I pick one and bring it on my entire walk then put it back when we get home. My huge heavy stick is now my prized possession. I wish I could carry it in my mouth, so I will practice every time I go out the door until I can.

My day has been ace ! We went to visit an auntie who is here on holiday , she had brought me a new toy , a lammie toy with a squeak and everything . Auntie is staying on a farm , well its a funny sort of farm because the farmer has two huge puppies , he said they are saint Bernard or some such , anyway , they are only six months old and bigger than me by far , we had fun in a field chasing around and getting filthy , fab fun . Then we set off for home , and we called in at a place they called Jamaica Inn, its near where I lived but we hadn't been in it before and guess what ? I was allowed in for lunch ! Mummy and Daddy had prawns and salad ( isn't salad the daftest thing , not very filling is it ?) and the kind lady asked if I would like a sausage , would I like a sausage ???? Lots of people fussed me and said I was very good indeed, but it was only because I was knackered after playing with the monster puppies , what a grand day , Sam xxx

That's the way to play them, Rory. Big smiles, wags 'n' wiggles, cuddles and licks...then as silly as you like.

All this talk of sausages is making me hungry, but mum says it's time for bed. All I've got is a teeny smear of peanut butter in my Kong, so I'll just have to dream of sausages...
