Had to look after a dog walking friend today. She has a small rescue collie. This poor dog came to her from a hellish situation. She'd been starved and was very nervous. She's been with shelia for about 18 months and she is now the most sweet delightful dog. So pretty friendly but still thin. She runs around like a crazy young collie is so never puts any weight on but is bright and her vet is perfectly happy with weight. But the evil dog walker (also known as the vicious circle)group by most of us normal dog walkers have decided that her dog is too thin. They had been so nasty to her today that she was in tears when she came to me. They tried to do it to me with Moo and Rory they were going to report me to the rspca because my dogs weren't obese like theirs. I told her all about it and told her what I did about it. She laughed and was less upset.

I talked to her for ages. She was ok I told her that moo got less skinny when she stopped being a dizzy young Moo, and Rory well he just a slinky boy. They are nasty people who like upsetting others. I just don't get.
I think she felt better when I told her she was not on her own. I hope she did it was so sad when someone's so upset. I've always admired her she takes dogs which have had a horrible time and makes them into happy confident dogs, I think they are probably jealous of her and her success at collie rehab and how wonderfully Gem is. I love my dogs but some people well

Oh they engage brain fine they just like bring mean. They have done and said some terrible things. One if the worst was telling everyone that someone was having an affair when they weren't and telling everyone I didn't have cancer because I had hair went to work and seemed too happy? And well? Luckily most of us are aware of their nasty ways and ignore them.

I think they've got time on their hands and no lives so they invent stuff.

I frequently meet people who know my dog's name but I haven't a clue who they are. 'Mooooooonty' they shriek and stroke him. Who are you, I think?
That comes of having four different people walk him through the week.

I often think he has a comparatively better social life than us. Last year Monty got more Christmas cards than OH got from his circle. :cwl:

I nearly got in loads if trouble at work today our with our overly sensitive and hysterical hospital email policing service. it Had a melt down because i used the word bitch. It was in context as I was talking to rorys breeder about a female lab but it obviously thought I was a gangster . Anyway after it had shut down my emails and reported me for such foul and disgusting language I asked them to get a human to read it. Everything is fine now they have forgiven me

Me and OH are thinking of getting some wills. Do any of you have them and have you put your dogs in them?

I don't mean leaving our house to Stanley or anything - but have you specified who will care for them?

I know my mum & dad or OH's would definitely take him - but I just didn't know if it was too much to specify

We have wills and Alfie is specifically named with provisions in it for his care but we re both solicitors so we may be being overly cautious and we dont have any children yet so he is our baby

Yes, we are about to do this to our existing wills - it won't be written within the body of the will but will be attached as an annex ( the same as you might if you want to leave specific trinkets to people) and signed, witnessed, dated, that before our estate is divided up, we wish that an amount should be used to pay for Monty's future care. I assume if we were both gone, then his insurance would be null and void, so to cover his HD and ED treatment, plus anything else that could crop up, this will be quite a significant amount. In terms of who will have him, this has already been verbally agreed with a family member. I guess they could ignore this instruction if they wanted to though.

OH had a will writing business so will be easy to sort and worded properly - if we get them re-written in the future I might have to see about getting a proper Monty trust set up ;) (not actually sure you can do that for an animal..)

    yes this too :)
