Yes, watch as you want - it goes pretty slowly so I tend to have it on in the background until he moves on, but then I'm very impatient lol

 

I like the sit - down - upsit - stand - down - stand to cover all the position changes.

It's a really good fun exercise to sharpen up your cues as long as you remember to mix up the sequence so that the dog can't anticipate the next move

 

I love this. I often throw a few position changes in as Ella's pretty good at them and gives me instant focus. It's a fun way for us to get into work mode

I signed up for one of his through Udemy at the beginning of winter. Got a bit bogged down at the beginning as he was doing basic stuff but thought it was good all the same. If you sign up you will get alerts for courses as they go on sale (which they do a lot) so don't pay full price for them, they will go on sale eventually.

I looked at the free video from your link and really like his style. Interesting that he does the air treats and uses his voice - made me realise that my DH's way of training our older Lab was a good way - she never had treats and he does everything by voice. I have had had real issues with all the treating going on at training with my puppy Red (who is currently unwell). Maybe, my DH who has had dogs all his life unlike me, is more of an expert than I have given credit for. Food for thought.

 

@Beanwood just wanted to say you've created a monster for me - I keep buying these courses and now have something like 50 hours of Ian Dunbar on my watch list. His voice is started to invade my dreams. But it's really interesting and so glad you put me on to this. Thanks again!

 

I have hours to watch! Need a holiday just to get through it all! Between us all on the forum we must have roughly 5 million hours to get through...oops!
The air treats are funny.. Benson feel for it hook line and sinker..even to licking his lips after! Casper looked at me very seriously as if to say.."mom they is actually nothing in your hand..." No fooling that one..
