How wonderful to catch up on this thread and to see you've joined us Catrionas.Alfie has entertained us all so much with his exploits ,it will be lovely to know he's arrived safely with you and is settling in ok.I bet you are all hopping with impatience ,super job giving this super Rescue boy a wonderful forever home x
Hola guapas, it is I... longer Toby but "Alfonso"! How do you like the new name? I think it is very me...Spanish but adorable at the same time. Even better than my countryman, Antonio Banderas. Despues de todo, any old hombre can be a "Tony" but I'm going to be an "Alfie". That has class and cuteness. Kind of like me! I had many, many adventures this weekend but now I must crawl under the duvet of sleepy-time magic and cuddle my foster lady. We are both muy cansado (that's very tired to you) and have a hard day of jogging and chasing seagulls tomorrow. Bueno, foster lady must also spend all day staring at her silly computer too, but this is not my problem. Computer. Can I hunt it? Can I eat it? No and no. I do not care. Where was I? Oh si, our weekend. We visited the lady with the Big Black Beast again yesterday. But there was a new beast! Horror, horror? No! This beast was a brown lady beast and I LOVED her...oh mi amor, mi amor, you are the most guapa. She put her big paw the size of a pillow on my head so gently and I just felt mi little corazon fall under her spell. Here is my querida Nora... Then today foster lady and I had a big adventure in Ronda, so I may need to give a Toby...er, ALFIE! tour of Ronda for you all soon. There were so many tourists and they kept telling me I was "sehr schön" and "que lindo"...oh, my handsomeness recognised in every language, I live for this kind of attention. Ooooo, pet my little head, rub my little tummy....oooo Ronda is bueeeeeno! Here is a preview of me posing for my fans in Ronda... Back for more after a good siesta under the magical duvet. Buenas noches, mis guapas y guapos!
I very much look forward to your tour of Ronda amigo guapo. The first holiday with mis hijos was to the wonderful Espania and we did happen to visit Ronda. Sadly the little one did in el automovil so we had to purchase a nifty T-shirt to help reduce the eau de vomit (sorry, that is French I think). We have a photo of hija pequeña on the bridge wearing T-shirt down to her knees . Its a cute photo, almost as cute as you are Alfonso. She was wearing a pink hat though x
...and that, much to Sophie's embarrassment is a photo I feel we should all see .....along with Part II of Alfonso's Amazing Day Out in Ronda ,looking forward to it x
Yep, we definitely need to see that photo. I must say, all of Alfie's photos would be improved by the addition of a pink hat. Heh, heh. And Alfie appreciates you talking a little of "el español" to him.
Hola guapas! It is I, Alfonso (aye, aye, aye...I am still loving my new name)! Malas noticias...bad news is that I do not have anything to tell you about Ronda yet. Bien, I DO have things to tell you, but foster lady is so slow organising the photos. This I cannot do myself with my tiny little paws and lamentable (thank you Google Translate) missing of the opposable thumbs. But buenas noticias...good news! I had a mini adventure tonight after this thing called "work". This really means foster lady staring at a boring computer for the whole day while I do important things like attack the evil broom, drag my special towel in and out of the house and dine on deeeelicious Kongs stuffed with salmon pate. Yo se....la vida es buena, no? Life is goooood! So after my busy day of defending the world from diablo brooms, foster lady and I went to Trafalgar lighthouse. Now, for all you Eeeenglish people out there, foster lady says Trafalgar is a muy importante part of your history. To which I say...history? Can I hunt it? Can I eat it? No and no? Then I do not care. You know this about your Alfonso. However, there were lots of leeetle leeezards and other deeeelicious things to hunt at Trafalgar. Can I hunt a lizard? Si!!! Can I eat a lizard? Si! Do I care? Seeeeeeeeee!!! So Trafalgar gets a "paws up" rating for doggie tourism. Could use some of those flying rats from Cadiz to make it perfect, but otherwise, perfecto! Here is the lighthouse, with all sorts of delicious creatures and smells hiding in the dunes. It is old and crumbly. Human history stuff always seems to be old and crumbly. If dogs had history, it would be old and stinky and tasty. Our history would be mucho mejor...a LOT better! And here I am looking muy guapo and getting ready to dig for clams on the beach. Que rico...I love digging for clams. Even though I have never actually found one. Or eaten one. Or even know what a clam looks like. Wait? Is THAT a clam? Then back to the other side of the side of the lighthouse...and...was that a bunny? Ooooo... I can hunt and eat a bunny too! What's that? Que? Oh, foster lady says I am not to eat bunnies. Never, never. How strange. What's wrong with eating bunnies? She has some really backward ideas about what is "good boy, good boy" and what is "dude, really?". This can be very confusing for a poor little Bodeguero such as your Alfonso. Por fin, a walk on the beach and then back home where I am now ready to go under the magical duvet and cuddle my foster lady. This is very important work I do, this cuddling. I can tell foster lady feels better every day with my cuddle powers. In fact, at the end of our walk she took this picture and told me how happy she was that her footprints have paw prints next to them again. She says paw prints in the sand next to human footprints are the happiest thing in the world. Sometimes she's not that dumb. Except about eating bunnies, of course. Buenas noches, guapos y guapas!
Your beach looks empty of other people Alfonso - perfect! And beautiful! Your foster lady will be sending a bit of her heart with you to your forever home I think xxxx
It's after Easter and before the mid-June invasion - most beaches here are empty during the week. And yes, Sunday (the little man's departure date) is going to be very rough. I'm dreading it but will also be happy for him that he gets to start his new life. On the bright side for @catrionas , I cannot believe how much he has chilled out in the last few days. Don't get me wrong, he's a wild child out on walks in his hunting mode, but inside he is turning into a couch potato. He does his "murder the broom" routine in the afternoon, but the mornings after breakfast and his walk are snooze central. And he will have a lie in on the weekends if you just cover him up with the magical duvet. I would not have thought that a dog could change so much even six weeks in to foster, but there you are - he continues to surprise me!
Señor Alfonso battles the dreaded diablo broom. Apologies for the shoddy camerawork - if I move from my desk at all, he stops, so I have to be stealthy! Oh, and my windows are pretty embarrassing too...just ignore them.
This is more like the hourly favourite game - he drags his towel and all toys outside, then I bring them inside again and he takes them outside again....and you get the idea! I don't care if he takes them out, I'm just bringing them back in because he loves taking them out so much.
Thanks, Mags. It is indeed going to a very weepy day. As long as I can hold it off until after I say goodbye so I don't stress him out more...then I'll just let the waterworks start.
He doesn't take prisoners! Sunday will be difficult, but what a great feeling it is when you know they have gone to a good home.
Hilarious! When Coco was in the kennels he used to drag all his stuff out into his outside run. We now have an ongoing battle with him taking "inside toys" out, and bringing "outside toys" in!
