Beautiful photo's. I'm really interested in body language so I hope you don't mind me saying what I observe from the photo's. Merlin is very good and isn't being pushy knowing when to keep away from Poppy. First photo Poppy has her back to Merlin so doesn't want anything to do with Merlin unless she hasn't realised he's there, second photo is OK you're there I am OK with that, the third photo looks like Poppy doesn't really want Merlin near her but the fourth one she looks a bit more relaxed. Probably totally incorrect but really happy to learn if anyone else can read the photo's correctly x
Oh thank you Karen I am reading a book about dog body language at the moment, it's so interesting to see it's about the tilt of ears, tilt of head, how the tail hangs, the standing position, so many things to tell how a dog is feeling x
I think that the fact Merlin was with an extended family group with seven adult dogs from about week 4 onwards means that he has excellent communication skills; he understands and interprets doggy body language very well.
It sounds like Merlin came from an excellent breeder and has so many good skills already. He is truly stunning x
What stunning photos! Both of them have beautiful color. Sorry about your nights but Merlin will settle soon. It will be a thing of the past very quickly (thank goodness)....Hang in there!
Merlin ist sehr schon! I don't know my German keyboard shortcuts, so excuse the lack of umlaut, and I've also forgotten my German for congratulations, but CONGRATULATIONS! What a little cutie. And the name really is fab. Poppy and Merlin sounds like a kids' cartoon duo or something.

Feeling like a new woman this morning!!! Popped Merly into his crate at just after 10:00 pm and the little darling slept until 04:00 am!!! Took him outside for a pee, then he fussed in his crate for 15-20 minutes, then went back to sleep until 07:00 am!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSS...
