Nell is home ,snoring gently in her bed with a blanket . The Vet said that she is a very sweet little soul , nurses had all been cuddling her . She doesn't seem to mind the soft buster collar , but I have ordered a medical t shirt which will arrive tomorrow , she is so low to the ground so it will help to keep the wound dry . So very pleased to have the little scrap back home x
I have the smallest comfy collar for her, but the little stinker keeps going behind the sofa and taking it off ! Roll on tomorrow when the t shirt arrives , I think I`m in for a rough night tonight, on the sofa !
Kate, I am so pleased this has worked out well for you all and Nell. I followed your comments about how concerned you were with her being so tiny, and not having had her for very long, and I really admire your complete(and instant!) devotion to her. Hope her recovery is speedy and easy. xx
On the weekend, we did a charity walk and there were lots of young dogs there. Quinn was quite wound up, and when I was sitting down on the ground eating a hamburger, a 5 month old golden retriever had a go for my burger and got a bite! When I turned toward him, Quinn came from the other side and snatched the rest of it! I couldn't believe it!
Yep and they can be very destructive. Farmers hate them and they can destroy large Gum trees once they get going.
OK i saw that quickly while scrolling through and I actually thought "Wow cool art work on your poo bags. Where can I get some of those." Mind baffles when scrolling to quickly...
Glad she is OK and back home. Hope your night was not too bad. She will be back to normal in no time. Vanilla had the comfy cone, she just sulked and huffed. Never heard of the tshirts though...
Sleep ? Whats that ? Haha ! I misguidedly thought that a mattress topper would be fine for me to sleep on , on the sitting room floor , it wasn't ! Nell went out for a wee last night and managed a little steamed chicken , then settled down , a few whimpers but on the while she wasn't bad at all . The floor was harder than I had anticipated and all the while , I could hear Paul gently snoring away in the comfy bed and just for a brief time , I didn't like him one little bit !It did strike me , at some unearthy hour , that Sam was also snoring away on the sofa , whilst I was on the floor , are we quite mad ? Nell has had a drink of water , a wee and some more chicken this morning , now snoozing away ! x
They say its a dogs life Glad she is OK. You will have to have an early night. I have slept on the floor and its no joke. It just show how much you love and care for her. She fell on her paws when she met you
So glad to hear Nell is back and recovering... even if it was an uncomfortable night for you @kateincornwall . So funny. I was never one to refer to myself as my dogs' "mother" (I'm more about us being a 'team') but around the time Brogan was about three years old or so, a good friend of mine started quoting some tv show (I think it was that puppet show "Dinosaurs") where the baby says something like "You're the mama, you're the mama!". Ergo my friend would say to me, "Oh, quite denying it, 'You're the mama!'" about Brogan and me. Somehow that translated into to me telling Brogan (in private), "Hey, we're going to do x now because 'I'm the mama'". Which inevitably bled out into not-so-private usage of the same. For example, us at the dog park: "C'mon buddy, let's go home now 'cause I'm the mama." This was...embarrassing. But what can you do, when you're the mama, you're the mama.
We're probably a bit over the top. Me and OH are mam and dad (which we refer to each other as "go see daddy".) then he has 2 sets of nanas and grandads - who refer to themselves as that Even aunties/uncles and a great nana. He's the centre of our little family
Nothing wrong with that at all. When we went to the UK recently, it was to stay with Auntie Rachel and Cousin Bo.
