Stayed with friends last night. We all got horribly drunk. This morning, J and I were up and about reasonably early (7) with the dogs. I popped back into the house to use the loo and Luna came with me. No problem, except, on coming out, she decided to barge through a closed door - to our hosts' bedroom. She jumped straight on the bed and proceeded to drown them in doggy licks.

    Hehe.

"Luna thinks it's time you should get up."

    Hangover? What hangover?

Stanley is a terror counter surfer.

OH has never quite got the memo that if you don't leave things on the top Stanley won't steal them

So far today Stanley has had some supernoodles, uncooked out of the packet and his chicken for his bait tomorrow :D

He's also trotting around with his trainer as I type

So proud of my little man.

We were on our walk last night, doing our usual route when he bolted in the field we usually walk through. I realised as he ran that there was a horse in the field which there never usually is.

I was really panicking as he was running towards this horse - and I just shouted STANLEY - THIS WAY and turned the other way and he turned straight away and flew towards me.

Ohhh he got pretty much the full bag of treats. I've never been so pleased :inlove:

Haha, I do love that the "walk from the car to the training venue" is a universal struggle for Labrador owners. It honestly makes me feel so much better. And the prayer circle (combined with my very low expectations) worked. We almost managed to walk into the venue in a civilised fashion, and she was miles more focussed than when we were there in early April for our last grading. But you'll never guess what greeted us when we walked in - two simultaneous games of indoor netball, running alongside our dog training areas  And we only have one more week's training before grading, which isn't enough time to proof against such distractions. Training outdoors in the dark in winter is pretty bleak, but I'd rather be outside than training indoors in an echo-y venue within meters of very noisy team sports! I understand why they switch indoors (you can train regardless of weather) but I wish the club had the money to hire out the whole venue. I'm going to need all your positive vibes in two weeks!

Oooh I think I've annoyed a girl at work.

She's getting a puppy this weekend but it will be less than 7 weeks of age when she's bringing it home. It's one her brother has bred and I've been quite vocal about the fact I think it should be with it's mam for a canny while longer yet.

    Oops

A little success to celebrate - lead walk this morning, saw a man with a Schnauzer coming the other way, opposite side of the road - we've seen them a couple of times before - he struggles as much as me, but his dog is SMALL. Anyway, I pulled out a dried duck fillet an plopped it on Coco's nose and we walked on "good boy Coco, good boy Coco", the man walked on "good boy, nice and calm, just walk, good boy, nice & calm, just walk". We passed, the man calls out "Double success there I think". YAY! Well done dogs!

Yes. Made his own way home after half an hour.
OH is furious with him. I'm not much better. This is not a happy household right now. I'm not sure Pongo even notices.
