I thought this might be helpful for those of you that live in the U.K. and are interested in doggy daycare. Apologies if it's on the wrong forum or if I shouldn't recommend daycare services (mods, plz remove if so).

I discovered Pawshake.co.uk when looking for daycare in my local area.
Local people sign up to offer various services such as daycare, overnight stays, walks, visits to your home etc. They write a profile about themselves including their experience, if they have a garden, their own pets etc. and include prices.

I found Emma on this site. We met twice, once at hers so I could check out her house, once at mine, both times with the pup, and we went for a walk together. I wrote out a list of things about Plum, dos and don'ts, likes, dislikes etc.

I was originally using daycare with someone else but she stopped offering the day I most wanted. Plus, I felt she had too many dogs sometimes.

Emma only looks after Plum, at the moment, in her own home, with her baby and toddler son. She lives near a rec and the Downs and takes Plum out once a day. The rest of the time Plum hangs out, pottering in the garden, nose-hoovering the carpet for food, playing with the toddler, who adores her, or napping. Home from home. I was wary of Plum being with a toddler and baby because she is excitable around kids but it's worked so well.

I pay £12 for daycare which I think is great value.
I have to book over the website and pay via PayPal and I check with Emma first that she can do the day(s) I need.

It might be worth a look if you need some kind of pup/dog care to see if there's someone in your area.

Thanks for the recommendation. I already use day care / dog walker, but useful info if they can't help on the dates I need.

Nobody at all in Fife :(. I have used the local dog walker for Ripple but this sounds better. (Well it could be if there was someone in my area.)

Was it the Pawws people? I see their van around a lot our way, but I think they walk small groups of dogs.

No, someone in my village - she has got a van but there's no name on it and she mostly walks the local dogs. She has a run in her garden and Ripple has spent a couple of odd days there and once a full week.
