Awwww, poor Mollie. Hopefully the antibiotics work quickly and she'll be back to feeling her regular self.
She's a lot more comfortable this evening and making sure my brother has warm feet, with the help of Tatze.
Thank you, she's much brighter today - hopefully it's just a simple infection soon to be cleared up. .
I have left Mollie at the vets. She finished her antibiotics and is fine 'in herself' but still clearly uncomfortable when weeing. She will be sedated and he's going to do a bladder scan and full scan of all her internal organs - so we'll have a good idea of her plumbing after that. He's also going to take a sterile sample of urine to send off for the Lab to analyse. Fingers crossed it's an infection and easily treated. He'll phone at about 2pm. I hope she's OK. When they go on holiday or away to school we send blankets and favourite toys. To the vets + nothing. I feel really sorry for her and hope she settles. .
Keeping fingers tightly crossed for your girl , and doesn't the time drag when you`re waiting , good luck x
She's back from the scan and all is well. Her plumbing and other organs are all normal so they have sent a sterile sample, which they took straight from her bladder, to the Labs where they will - hopefully - be able to find out just what antibiotics she needs. She's really wobbly and woozy now, bless her. She had a sedative for the procedure. The vet nurse said she's been very well behaved all day. It's good to have her back .
Ah, it must feel really strange having one of your puppies at the vet, where they're not really yours. Are you still the first person they contact to say she's ready for collection, and how you need to care for her going forwards?
The good news is that the bill is not mine either Yes, I'm the first person they contact and - unless other decisions are needed - I'm the one they give instructions to. I've emailed my supervisor and Mollie's welfare officer with the good news. .
So far so good. Once she's recovered from this (and I'm sure she'll need the tailored antibiotics as she was still widdling little widdles this morning and spending ages over it) she'll be going for her eye tests to a specialist ophthalmologist. If all is well then it'll be x-rays after that. .
So pleased to read there is nothing untoward. Loved the photo with your brother and particularly noticed the toy boxes which amuses me, here we are, all grown up, no toddlers and we have toy boxes! If only mine put their toys away! I know I could train them, but choose not to in case it spoils their gundog work
