Back in Germany for four days, first "doggie breakfast" yesterday with my friend who runs a dog rescue group and looks like I'll be getting a 10-year-old blind Australian shepherd from Romania soon as a foster. I'm such a sucker.

On the bright side, same friend has stopped crying to me that I have to get another Rottie and is on board with Lab thing, so...baby steps.

She even wants to go with me to a big DRC (German retriever club) show next weekend. And enter her dog...who is a snarly little chihuahua/bodeguero/GSD mix. Apparently a few years ago she went to an all-breed dog show and they had a fun entry/judging for mixed breeds and Joe came in third and got a trophy, so she wants to add to his collection. I kept explaining, "It's a RETRIEVER show and as much as you love him, Joe is NOT a retriever."

Should be an interesting weekend. :D

No, with that mix, I'm not quit sure what he is! :D

Is your friend German? I'm just thinking of the German pronunciation of "Joe", and it ain't pretty! ;)

I'm not sure what Joe is either. That's our best guess based on his looks. He's not ugly by any means, but indeed very "unique". :p He came from a killing station in Murcia, so there's got to be a little Bodeguero in there.

Yes, she's German. And actually, "Joe" just sounds like "Joe", even with the accent. At least he's not a "Chico/Chica". Can't tell you how many Spanish rescues around here end up saddled with that name. I guess it's better than calling them "Perro", but still...o_O

I knew a GR called Perro, in England. The owner thought it most amusing.

Back from lunchtime walk today, Monty an angel.
He finds a piece of cat poo in our front garden, I say leave it, and he actually drops it out of his mouth! This has never happened before.

I say well done, do a little jig for the neighbours' benefit and pass him a biscuit, and end up with cat poo all over my hands where he's smushed it into his muzzle. Bleurgh.

They are just so obvious and funny about it. Any meeting we have to discuss any problems or just stuff the answers is always Sarah only needs to bring Rory in and it will be fine. Also they are stressed so Rory needs to come in as Rory gives the best cuddles on and on.:)

It's raining hard but also very warm. Do you think I could wear my swimsuit when I take Molly for her walk? ;)
