Ah yes, I meant to flag that up, too, because when I first read it, I thought you meant his foot, before I realised you meant his puppy pad You probably didn't need to do it with the pad, anyhow - most of them already have a scent in them that encourages the pup to go on them. Or near them. Often just off the edge His first pint? Are you sure?
Yes, are you sure? I'm sure it felt good anyway. How lovely that you have got your puppy home after all the waiting, good luck to you all with him.
Yes his first pint!!!!We have strong ethical beliefs in this house and have never recorded music off of the radio on a cassette or shouted expletives at referees when a terrible decision has been made against our team!!!
LOL, thanks for the explanation. I just assumed the pad on his foot. Are you in an apartment where simply teaching to potty outdoors is difficult?
No I have a fairly large garden and whenever he has had any drink I let him run outside for a few minutes and today so far has done two wees and a poo outside so am very happy and praised him to the hilt!!! Reason he wasn't let out yesterday was I didn't yhink it was fair because he wasn't picked up til very late and it seemed only fair he should have a quietish night.
Welcome home Dawson. Sounds like he is settling in really well. Look forward to hearing about his adventures. If you go onto the technical section it gives you advice on posting photos etc. You would need a photo hosting website like photo bucket or Flickr.
Four successful interventions when acts of nature arise. The garden seems to be his thing. If Labradors are really intelligent I'll leave him the backdoor keys and he can lock up after his do do's!!!
Oh welcome home Dawson, we're really looking forward to hearing all about you! And well done Dave, sounds like you're doing really well....hang in there!
Well it's midnight and all is quiet.Dawson just woke up and he followed me outside and did a big wee so today's score since doing that 5 successes and 2 fails when lads overexcited him,All in all not too bad I don't think. however he doesn't take to his crate easily so have put a big snuggly rug next to it and he is really content. Tomorrow is another challenge as I will move him into the kitchen because the front room isn't ideal is it! Overall he is so laidback for someone that has just had his cosy world turned on his head but if you have five people wanting to shower him with love I suppose that's a good second best.
Hope you got some sleep! Those first few days are crazy... Out of interest, why do you want to move his crate to the kitchen? He may well settle more easily in his crate if you are all nearby...
I'm pretty sure you said the same to me when I first brought Willow home. But, HAHA, I resisted! Not for long, granted....
There are three certainties in life. Death, taxes and the fact that in time your Labrador will take over 95% of the surface area of your bed.
Hello I've been a bit quiet today and very sleepy. My dad is keeping a close eye on me because he thinks it's not as it should be.When I was asleep my whole body was shaking and have done a runny poo. That said I still like to go walkabouts but am clingier than I have been. Do you think I am reacting to last jabs or just feeling a little bit nose out of joint?????
Yes he's drinking and playing reasonably normally. He has had hiccups and has done several blow offs.My wife noticed it as well but he has perked up this afternoon and has been chasing a ball around and trying to destroy it. He has now tired himself out after a short burst and is enjoying a relaxing sleep. I know nothing on dog care and will monitor him very carefully but my instinct tells me he is OK but any re-occurance will obviously get me to talk to someone who knows these things. Thank you for your concern.
