Hi Everyone! My Lab Puppy 3 1/2 months old & she has been aggressive. She lunges at me & bites on me. I raised 2 Labs and they are & were the best dogs. I don't know what to do. She's like that at times with my son, but not my husband.
Hi Amy and welcome to the forum. Don't be alarmed, it's hugely unlikely that your puppy is being aggressive at this age. It's very, very normal for Labrador puppies to lunge and bite, sometimes growling in a startling manner. It's all simply play, though. There's lots of information about this on the main site: http://www.thelabradorsite.com/labrador-puppies-biting/ and pop over to our puppies board to read stories about all the other owners on the forum with crocopups! https://thelabradorforum.com/forums/labrador-puppies.8/
This is ALL play. Follow @snowbunny's links for excellent advice. Wear skinny jeans and wellies if necessary! And welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie from Manchester UK Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's four years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German. Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab who is nine months old and was a TOTAL crocapup until very recently! .
Please don't, but this feeling isn't at all unusual after the excitement of a new puppy. This may help - http://www.thelabradorsite.com/how-to-beat-the-labrador-puppy-blues/ .
Nothing to feel like a failure about! Nearly all Lab puppies do this. Your last ones probably did, too, to some extent, but we have a way of blocking it out. I remember moaning about my latest puppy's biting, and vaguely recall being covered in cuts and bruises, but it's like it was a dream and it couldn't have been that bad. She's eight months old, so it's not as if it was years ago. I reckon they secrete some memory-altering hormone to make you forget all about it, otherwise you would never put yourself through bringing another puppy into your home again
She will! Meanwhile shove (I use this word advisedly as you have to be more determined than they are!) a toy or a chew in her mouth every time her teeth head for your skin! Oh yes - I forget every single time! .
