    Hello @himanshu dubey.
    What has your vet said?
I remember you posted about your puppy before as you got him very young...4 or 5 weeks?
How much of the puppy food is he getting and how much home cooked. Also WHAT does he get home cooked?
Does he eat everything you give him?
What are his poos like? I mean how often and are they very soft of quite firm.
Does he have a round tummy? I am wondering if he is free of worms too even though I know you are working him.
    Sorry for so many questions.

Do remember though that we are not vets on this forum. Some of us have a little experience from oir own dogs and from reading. We have NO veterinary experience and we cannot see your dog and advise on treatment or feeding with any accuracy.

The very best place to get advice from is a local veterinarian who can actually see your dog and advise appropriately.

    Jac

thnx for the reply jac , first of all i took him to the vet only once for vaccination , and i'll take him again in few days, the vet said he is thin because he is growing tall,he will be better after some months , but i look at other puppies of his age and they look healthy,we give him milk in the morning, pedigree puppy food after 2-3 hours after milk and in the evening also(250-300 grams) ,we give him home cooked wheat flour bread(which we call roti ,you can google it)socked in milkfor lunch, and again bread with boiled lentils. yes he eats everything, even after eating this much when we take him out he tries to eat soil, stone and grass and other rubbish things, and he always sniff in kitchen tofind something to eat,he never poops easily ,he starts playing intead of doing his buisiness.i gave him deworming med so i think he should be free from worms,is there any way to check if he is not, sorry if i shared any unnecessary info , i am attaching a link so you can see how thin he is,

    Hi there!
I would advise you NOT to feed the home cooked food ( NO roti or lentils) and just feed the pedigree puppy food according to the pack advice.
Also I would not feed your puppy milk. Most pups will not be getting milk at this age. Definitely not cow or goat milk. Only milk advised for puppies is specific puppy milk, but as I said, your puppy shouldn't need it now.
What does the pedigree pack say for feeding amounts?

Hi...another vote here for no home food and definitely no milk. Perigee is a complete food...nothing else needed. It has all the vitamins, minerals and nutrition to grow healthily. Stick to the packet instructions , he probably needs more puppy food and less human food :)

The problem with the home cooked food you are feeding is that it's not meat. Of course dogs can digest many vegetables, but they need meat as a source of protein. Kibble may not look like meat but it has a large proportion of meat in it and has been carefully designed by the pet food companies to have a healthy balance of nutrients.
So I agree with what others have already said -feed your puppy four times a day with the dog food you have chosen.

Another voice to add to the "more meat" advice. Milk, bread and lentils are not suitable food for a dog. I understand it's quite common in India to feed this sort of diet, but it is ot good for your dog's health. Sticking to a more animal protein baed diet is the way to go for sure :)

He is probably trying to eat other things because he isn't getting a balanced diet. He doesn't look too skinny on the photo you attached. I agree with above that he needs more meat / just kibble. You will find he will pick things up with his mouth as this is how they explore the world around them.

thnx everyone for the reply , actually we are vegetarians and we never cook or bring meat in our home ,and the reason we give him this type of home cooked food is because it provide protein and fiber ,and some years ago we had two pomeranian dogs , they were really healthy and active dogs, but if you guys are suggesting i will give him more kibble and will try to give him meat , and one more thing ,is feeding him eggs good? and as naya said , does everyone think he is not skinny as you can see in the picture?

You don't actually have to buy meat, which I can understand you might not want to do being vegetarian, but just feed the right quantity of kibble and no human food.

Your dog needs a meat-based diet even if you are vegetarian. Kibble is meat based & will give him what he needs without you having to handle actual raw meat.

Another vote for kibble here too.
Definitely don't need to buy or prepare meat if you don't want to.

Hi @himanshu dubey, I am not an experienced dog owner but he doesn't look emaciated in the photo. It is great that you are so concerned about keeping him healthy. We don't feed our lab anything more than her kibble and now a little bit of tinned dog food. I would agree that feeding him milk and other foods is not a good idea. It has also been strongly impressed on us that a large dog, like a lab, needs good nutrition especially during the growing years. Good luck!
