I'm curious when other peoples puppies stopped having regular accidents indoors. Juno is 14 weeks and has had a 3.5 day streak with no accidents in the house and I'm wondering if I'm finally reaching the end of indoor accidents here...or if its just a happy coincidence.

My puppies did not have accidents in the house. If I left them too long for their little bodies they pee'd or pooped. It was always a case of me not attending to them at the right time. Jet was clean overnight from the get go and able to control her pee and poop for a whole day of me working away from home by 6 months. Oban needed to pee and poop twice a night, then once a night till he could go the whole night by 4.5 months. At five months I gave him the run of the house overnight. I never left him alone for a whole work day (about 9 hours including commute time) as by the time he came I worked from home. He's not used to being left that long now so I don't do it.

I think Ella would have been about the same age when she became "mostly" toilet trained. She still had the occasional accident (when we missed the signs and forgot to put her outside) until about 5 months though I think.

None of my four pups have been totally accident free until five months old. But by sixteen weeks the accidents were, thankfully, fewer and further between.

Harley was accident free by about 12 - 13 weeks. Hopefully you are nearing the end if this stage.

I think 6 months is generally the time when you can start to feel completely safe and not be thinking "must empty the puppy" all the time. Willow and Shadow were very reliable for quite a time before that. Shadow was pretty much toilet trained when he came to us at 14 weeks; he only went a couple of times inside when I was in the middle of something and didn't take them out in time.
Luna took a lot (lot lot lot) longer before she was any sort of consistent about going outside.

They're all individuals and there isn't really a "normal".

Bailey seemed to have it cracked by about 4 months - however then he started lifting his leg outside to pee - so just to show us how clever he was being he peed on the fireplace mantle twice in one day  and then once up the bar at the club  both times there was no warning, he'd just been walked and had loads of pee's while out - at home it was to show us and at the club to show his bestest human friend in the whole wide world Norman! Thank goodness I still carried the enzyme cleaner with me! Since then we have been accident free so around 4 to 5 months old.

Took Quinn 6 months to be fully reliable during the day. She was solid over night by 12.5 weeks though.

Our 12 week old does not let us know when she has to go. Sometime during play she'll just stop and pee. We keep looking for signs, like walking in circles, getting restless, running towards the door...but no, she just squats and goes. So we take her out often. The last two days there have been no accidents in the house, but that has more to do with our diligence then her actually letting us know. She does last the night in her crate and for longer periods of time during the day. We know her little bladder is getting stronger each day.

Goodness - both Poppy and Merlin had very few accidents in the house, and I cannot remember the last time Merlin peed anywhere other than outside. I would say they were both pretty much house-trained by 10 weeks, and reliable by 12 weeks. The way I did it was to watch them like a hawk, and leave the front door to the garden open the whole time, so they could get out whenever necessary.

You win some and you lose some though - Merlin did not sleep through the night until he was 14 weeks old. He didn't actually need to pee or poop, he just hated his crate and wanted company...

Ah yes, but winter pups don't have constant garden access :)

And, in Cornwall, we were in an upside-down house, so I had to carry her up and down the stairs every time! Plus, I had two older dogs who wanted to do away with her... :D

You can still sharrup about "losing some" with Merlin not sleeping through the night until he was 14 weeks. SEVEN MONTHS. SEVEN. MONTHS.

Well I guess making this thread jinxed it. Juno went almost five days with no accidents when last night, she made a biiiig poopy stinky mess all over our bedroom floor. Thank god we have no carpet, dear god. She had been whimpering all day for no apparent reason so when she whimpered, I didn't take her out -- it doesn't help that she JUST went out less than thirty minutes prior and did a big number 2 then! I don't know why she refuses to finish her business completely when I take her out... maybe its because its hot? We live in Arizona so it's extremely hot out.
