Yes, there are two schemes. Name a puppy £2,500 and you get to choose the name and a photo. Sponsor a puppy £5,000 and you get progress reports and a visit to see the pup. I did the first with Coffee and I'm doing the second to call a pup 'Ray' after my Mum. https://www.guidedogs.org.uk/suppor...nate/name-a-puppy-change-a-life/#.WWYrfbHTWfA Here is the lovely Coffee who I fundraised to name - by coincidence he's being puppy walked near me and I've met him several times at puppy class. He's nine months old now, the same age as Mollie. He's a typical GR Coffee -
Guide Dogs have a new harness. I think they look a lot like some of the harnesses we use. This boy, Oakley, lives on a narrowboat! He's amazing, he can find the bakery and station in any town just by smell.
Pretty sure my hubby can find the pub in any town. I'm not sure if it's smell, or maybe some sort of internal beer-divining system.
I can find bakeries anywhere! Riggs does his darndest to get his "big brother" Riddick to play-wrestle with him!
I always take a lot of pictures of my dogs, but with Guide Dog Puppy Riggs (born on a Friday), I have been taking a portrait picture every Friday, in a similar seated position, and I am compiling them into a little movie for when he is a year old to show how he has grown and changed! Here's the first one I took when he was 7 weeks old - the day we fetched him - and the one I took when he was 17 weeks old!
The usual harness is white leather. I think it will be a long time before they all have the new webbing one. They train in a brown leather harness.
@Boogie I love that video of the pups running around the pots in the garden! Yesterday Guide Dog puppy Riggs (left) and his brother Ringo had an outing to a mall-slash-casino near us. It was nice and quiet, but there are loads of weird and wonderful things to see including an arcade and a bowling alley, and fountains and different kinds of staircases. Here they are practising a close-together-sit-stay.
They are so good together! Mollie is meeting her brother, Samson, tomorrow- I can't see us being able to get such a calm photo lol .
@Boogie Just curious -on Facebook, a poster said that puppy walkers are not allowed to use clicker training. Is that the case?
