One of my many highlights of my recent trip to Cape Town was to visit my Uncle and his husky puppies. They breed huskies and have 10 adults and the 3 puppies at the moment. They also have alpacas. Pics are a a bit wonky as the puppies were so inquisitive and playful. Intrestingly they've put the puppies father with them for a while as they their mother had had enough. This is my Dad with two adult dogs then two of the puppies.
Beautiful pups and interesting peek into someone's else way of life part way across the world. I love posts like this - thank you!
They are really beautiful dogs and have won many show ring awards. Although a full time job to care for them all.
I bet! That's a lot of dogs! Do they need grooming? I always assume huskies are big shedders. Although I'm guessing they don't (all) live in the house?
They are beautiful! What amazing fur they have. How does he exercise them all? I am having visions of him riding the alpacas, with the huskies running along to heel... Do they cope all right with the heat in SA?
They do have some help. They live near a long open beech so they take the dogs there for a run, I think just some each time. Their house is cool, quite cold in winter and air conditioned in summer. My uncle is still a surgeon and sometimes takes a dog on hospital rounds with him.
I have friends with Huskies and when they're shedding you do not want to stand down wind from them! It's like a snowstorm of hair coming towards you!
