Payment isn't needed, you can continue to use the forum as you did in the past. :D

However, if you don't want to keep using a third party to upload your photos, you can pay an annual fee and upload straight to the forum. I guess the fee covers the cost of the storage space required to hold everyone's photos plus I would imagine it goes to the upkeep of the forum :)

Yup, hosting doesn't come cheap so it just lets people who want to, contribute towards those costs. But, as Emily says, it's certainly not obligatory. Forum supporters get the added benefit of being able to directly upload photos, but you can still continue to use Photobucket etc like you historically have. Supporters also don't see the inline adverts.

The adverts don't bother me much but there's no way for me to upgrade my membership so I just have to suck it up

Kate, if you are using a Windows PC with Windows 7 and up, you can right click on the name of your photo, and choose open with...and choose Paint. Once paint is open, ignore everything just go to the top and choose the option Resize. You will see when that opens it will give you a choice of size or pixels, choose pixels and in the blocks below change the numbers from what they are to 2500. You only need to do the first, top number, the second one adjust automatically. Then you save that photo as normal and try to up load it, it will be under the maximum size allowed and will upload. It is very simple and quick. Once you know how you will do it in under a minute. Good luck.

I can really relate. I am basically a Luddite but I work with a lot of adolescents and I have learned so much about technology from them. I was cringing when I was writing the explaination to you, thinking that one of our IT smart people are going to come along and have a good chuckle:)

A really easy one to use is www.picresize.com usually I'll just do 50% resize and it's enough for this forum to accept.
MOD'S if this isn't allowed please feel free to remove. I don't see any adverts within the site :D

It's alright, we trust you're not spamming. Unless, hmmm, maybe you joined with the specific intent of promoting that site and were just biding your time to make it seem genuine?
Yes, I see your game now...

Hi, the price is in UK currency so that 10 GBP. To figure out what that is in your own currency, just drop it into a currency converter like this one. I can't give you an exact figure I'm afraid, as the exchange rate varies from day to day - especially at the moment :)
