Oh, by the way, I hope you feel better soon and it doesn't develop into anything worse. Being ill is boring!

Genuinely don't understand how Stanleys not bald with the amount he's currently shedding!

I'm seriously considering taking the clippers to him and just leaving him with fur on his head and his tail o_O

We had our dog club walk ths morning, followed by a very British picnic - all of us sat around on deckchairs in the pouring rain eating hot dogs and salad.

EEK! We have been building up to Coco'c Big Day - it was today. We took him the the Southern Agricultural Show. Started badly - no poo bags - that was down to me apparently. We drove home, got some and started again (luckily it was about 10 minute's drive!). Parked away and had a 15 or so minute walk along unfamiliar (to Coco) footpaths & roads - he managed very well. There were LOADS of dogs at the show ground. Coco wanted to say "hello" to all of them, we tried to restrict it, but he was like "Hi, I'm Coco" to all dogs. No lunging, just strong pulling. Lots of sniffing. He barked at one fat French Bulldog. He didn't bat an eye at the livestock, though we kept our distance. We were able to sit down and eat lunch no bother. He met one of the kennel staff he remembered from the ManxSPCA, and was all over him & his dog (a black Lab called Rudy, who he used to play with) - big licks - lovely to see. He has done us proud really. Coco is now out for the count. OH is knackered from manhandling a strong, pulling dog around for 2 hours.

I bought Coco a new collar in Manx Hunting Tartan

Sounds like a great day out @edzbird . The member of staff from the rescue must have been delighted to see Coco so happy and confident.

I would love to see a photo of all Coco's collars :D Would they even fit in the frame?

Well the good news on the sick front is that neither I nor the kid have the flu - just colds *phew* but that meant that Xena had to make do with no walks this weekend (just some footy in the garden and some tuggy/fetchy/chasey inside). But tonight there was a beautiful sunset and I figured that me and Dawn were ok for a leisurely 20 mins around the block. Ugh. Two days with no walks and you'd think that the dog had forgotten all her loose-leash walking. I'm usually quite smug about her leash work but tonight put paid to that

Glad to hear it's not the flu. Xena just didn't realise you wanted a leisurely walk! :pull:

I've just seen a post on Facebook discussing weights of labradors.

Some of these dogs are 50kg+.

    They're so fat :(

It's killing me not to comment

Is that still a Lab? Are people proud that they are fat or do they think they are just big? I know Rottie people get obsessed about dog weights too and would say goofy things like "My Rottie weighs 200 lbs." To which the only answer was, "That's not a Rottweiler, that's a mastiff."

    There's one that's 135lb!!

That's pretty much double the breed standard. I know it's just a guideline but still that's ridiculous!

Oh boy, that dog is obscene, and the owner is vile for doing it to him.

On another note, I never realised how effective scented poo bags were until I bought non-scented poo bags :puke:
