Thank you all for your support and kind words. As I said above, I know they are both treatable / manageable, but it's just hard to take in.
Oh Naya, I'm so sorry to hear that our dear Harley has been unwell. As others have said, she's such a lucky girl to have you watching out for her. We'll be thinking of you this weekend and on Monday and hoping for positive results xx
Sorry to hear thst she is still not well. Hopefully it is neither and just a little blip. Vanilla sends big licks
Aww No....sorry to hear this Ternaya. Had Harley just been a bit "flat" or have I missed something else happening? Poor girlie. Hope you get a definitive answer one way or the other and she gets on the right treatment. Sending hugs to you x
She's been extremely 'flat' - not wanting to play, lethargic on walks etc. She has put on weight in the last month and I have got her on a diet because she isn't as active as usual. It was just her behaviour that worried me, which is why we went to the vets. There are other things she is doing such as begging for food, being really grumpy and snappy at other dogs, drinking loads more, but I put all of this down to the changeable weather. I guess I should of trusted my gut feeling and took her to the vets sooner, but thought most of it was weather related. Hopefully now we can get to the bottom of it all and try and make sure she is happy.
My next doors neighbours lovely spaniel recently got diagnosed with a thyroid problems. His owner like you knew there was something not quite right and like you got prompt treatment. He's doing well now and is back to his normal self. You can't blame yourself these conditions are difficult to spot even for vets. Harley is a happy dog who gets the best of care and love from you. Once you know what it is and start treatment things will improve.
Rotten, either way. You are right though, both manageable with meds and that extra bit of care you are clearly more than willing to give your beautiful Harley. Fingers crossed for easier news Monday x
Getting a diagnosis means getting a way forward. My heart aches for you having to await a diagnosis at all.
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry until you get a definitive answer. Whatever it is, you're going to get to the bottom of it and you'll get it managed
