    Hello,
I sure hope I get a response from someone out there! I've been a "lurker" on this site for sometime, and have always learned a lot, and I truly appreciate this community of lab lovers. I am in a quandry. I have a new labrador puppy, and I have to go out of town this weekend. He was born on 6/3. He's too young for the flu shot, so I'm very limited on what I can do boarding-wise. Further limiting me is my husband, who doesn't want a stranger to come into our home to puppy sit for the weekend (my preference.) Our vet can board him in semi-isolation. My girl lab (11 years old) would be in the same room with him. They'd be in separate kennels, but likely the only 2 in the room. The problem is that the vet isn't open on the weekends, so they'll have someone come in to give him 3-5 potty breaks/day. I just hate the thought of this, but I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks!

Hi Lizlab. The vets option doesn't sound ideal with the weekend. Where in the world are you? There's a recent thread about boarding dogs in the UK where you can search for what ever criteria you need, someone will offer it.

Hi @Lizlab, yes it's me who is looking into boarding options now (I'm in the UK). I've found two really good websites - dogbuddy and holidays4dogs. Have a look at them, if you are UK-based. I know it is really short notice but you might be able to find someone? Let us know how you get on (and welcome to the forum!)

You may be able to find someone to take them for the week by searching online for a website that that connects dog owners to people who will watch/sit for them. Something like an Airbnb or taskrabbit type service for watching/walking pets (taskrabbit looks like it might even work). I cant remember the website/app/service, but my wife mentioned that one of her old coworkers used to do dog sitting and found people based on a website/app like the one I described. Sorry I cant remember the name, but if you can find it or something similar you might be able to board your puppy with a person near you. BTW, I'm located in the US (upstate NY) so I expect what we have near us would be around you as well.

Would the breeder consider having the puppy to stay for the weekend?

@Lizlab , Stacia's idea is a brilliant one, definitely worth asking (if your breeder isn't too far from you).

Thanks so much! It turns out that my regular kennel will keep him and just make sure he's separate from other dogs (except my girl.) I had talked to him about finding a sitter to no avail, but he suggested the option we're going to go with and I know he'll get care and attention that way. There *are* some reputable looking websites that include reviews, profiles, etc of potential sitters in my area. It's called rover.com, and I may consider them if my trainer can't keep him. Thanks so much!!!
This is a perfect thought, and in fact I contacted her first. She said she'd love to have him come stay the weekend at her house, but she too is going to be gone this weekend.

After talking again to my kennel/trainer, he will keep both of them in a separate area this weekend. I'm so appreciative of everyone's suggestions!
