I'm pleased to say Keir had a good night. Bed time 10pm, he woke at 5:30 I took him out for a wee and put him back to bed. He shouted for five minutes, then all was quiet until I woke him at 'proper' morning - 7am. This is a great relief as he was a very poor sleeper with his temporary Mum from 8 to 12 weeks. Touch wood it continues - I bet he was exhausted from all the play! I'm also pleased to report that he loves his food, which is good for future training - some GRs are not foods at all. Mollie is being a little star, but I have divided the room as they often over-play. Tatze's chair is on the same side as Mollie so that they can both get a break! (Tatze is home tomorrow)
Welp, Mags, it's decided...Keir is WAY too big to be a guide dog. Nope, he should be immediately disqualified. And then adopted. By someone who needs a big, smart, sturdy assistance dog. You know...like me. Right? I mean, they'd let you do that... right? He's gorgeous, huge (as others have already commented) and will have a wonderful puppyhood with you. I'm so looking forward to watching his story with you unfold.
We forget so quickly - well, I do! I waited an age this afternoon until Keir had had a wee to take him to the shop for some training. When I got there I remembered what I do, they have a garden centre type place attached and I do my training out there if no wee had been forthcoming at home. Duh! Anyway, he did wee out there and then was a total star in the shop. It's so much easier training pups to walk nicely on the lead in shops. No leaves etc to stop and investigate every five seconds! .
Ha Ha! Funny you should say that. When I saw that photo of Mags when he was in her arms I though immediately of you. Could be fate. Maybe you should visit, Emily, sabotage his training do a bit of training with him ......
Definitely will be visiting involved - I loved spending time with Mags and her crew last year. I think Mags is way too smart for any sabotaging, though, and she might notice if I tried to sneak Keir into my (extremely large) back pack. But (shhhh!) I could still try!
Then there were three, Mollie is the serious one as always Tatze thinks Keir is the bees knees. Mollie was funny during the introductions, she didn't want Keir to play with Tatze and kept blocking him with her body. All is well now, they've had a big hooly and are all flat out asleep.
