How much water does your puppy drink?

We have a 15 week old yellow lab. He is drinking about 3 litres of water a day. I think we may be giving him too much water. How much water do other puppies drink?

 

I'm not expert, but I don't think you could give or make you puppy drink too much

 

Each dog/puppy is an individual and how much they drink depends upon many factors - climate, exercise and play, food. He should have free access to clean, fresh water at all times during the day and they normally wil only drink what they need.
It might be worth a chat with your vet though to put your mind at rest.

 

We have had a few Labs MUCH thirstier than others, and a couple of them would walk away from the bowl before swallowing - with a mouthful of water dribbling all over the floor!
You should never limit access to water though - they will only drink what they need.

Yes, water consumption does vary , my boy will empty his water bowl in one go , from time to time, but if you are worried that the amount is excessive, have a chat with the Vet x
