Hi yes puppies sleep a huge amount of the day - it is the way they process all they are learning. So long as when he is awake Mason is as usual I would think there is nothing to worry about.

Hi Samantha, ok and thank you. He seems happy enough, drinks has eaten and been out in the fresh air

Yes it's normal. My latest pup is 13 weeks and some days he naps more than usual. My other lab did it too- little growth spurts. Congrats on your new puppy and enjoy how little he is- it won't last long!

ThankyouLLamberton, I just needed to know that things were ok. Bit of an anxious owner I'm afraid. Does the napping then affect the night time sleep?

No unless you let him nap too close to bed time. I make sure to get some good play time in right before bed if he takes a late nap. If he is eating/drinking and otherwise playing normal he is just fine. Enjoy the extra time for yourself before he wakes and is ready to play!

He does tend to sleep abit more in the evening in chunks as we are in the lounge but when he wakes he is encouraged to go outside and if he wants to play then play it is. I know it is pretty full on I'm trying to get used to doing jobs whilst he is asleep but I worry

Yes it's fine, puppies sleep a LOT!

Keir, 16 weeks old, sleeps most of the afternoon!

    :)
