So glad you got to see Alf and see he’s doing well. Have a safe flight...and enjoy that nummy dinner!
Safe travels! I hope you have a good time in California and return refreshed for Labratour Volume 2: The Puppy Chronicles
I like it!! This is definitely the official name for Volume 3 ... or is that Volume 23? You know, when she's actually contacted breeders and found a ... what's it called again? I forget what she's actually spending her time looking for. Oh yes, a puppy!!!
Sorry, Emily, we are just being naughty... You'll be bearing the scars of Labracroc teeth before you know it.
Mmm... good idea - I could just photoshop a puppy into my travel pictures and then the pressure would be off! That's better than the #puppyprocratinationtour, which is a more accurate description so far, I'm afraid! Oh drat, that's the problem - I thought I was searching for the perfect Tesco ready meal. I'm sure I'll do better if I can just remember that it's a PUPPY that I'm looking for.
It's been an absolutely crazy two weeks in California during the official pause of the Labratour. I ended up getting a huge work project the day before the official start of my holiday, which has meant that my holiday wasn't really much of a holiday. On the other hand, I had a ton of "to do's" planned in California that had to keep on rolling despite needing to get work done, so not much sleep has been happening. As with last year, the "I'm going to the beach every day" pledge turned into one quick trip only. Grrr. But I have gotten to see lots of friends and eat so much Mexican food that essentially I've now turned into to a chile relleno (or at least my figure has)! The few breeders that I was able to speak to before leaving the UK did not reply to me by email over the last two weeks in terms of setting up visits for next week. Plus due to the time difference I wasn't able to make direct phone calls to chase them. Serious bummer (how's that for sounding American?). So I do feel it's pretty much back to the drawing board for those plans. But I've got a little place to stay in Cumbria (in Kendal) for the first five days back in the UK and I'm hoping I can reach people by phone starting on Monday and make more firm plans from there. I'm trying to stay really flexible for the next three weeks (aka "Labratour Part Two) so that I can be free to run hither and yon if I get a good lead. If nothing else, I will get to see a part of the UK that is completely new to me. I'm also looking forward to meeting more doggies as the last two weeks have been a little light on the pup cuddles for my taste! Flying tomorrow, arriving in Heathrow and Cumbria Sunday and hopefully re-surfacing feeling somewhat human again on Monday!
Oooh Kendal isn't toooooo far from us Emily! Let us know what your plans are and we could maybe arrange a Visit with Mr Stanley
Not sure about the "puppy" part yet, but certainly I have hope for seeing more breeders as all roads so far have seem to lead to Cumbria/Scotland! Maybe I'm destined to get a Squidge/Benson cousin.
Yes, I think a few forum members got their pups from these areas. Seems to be the place to go. Good luck! x
Lummy, surely all these world-wide travels haven't been purely in search of a lab - have they? A heck of a lot for a squeaky-leaky little pup to live up to if so. All the best to you and pup-to-come
