Awww Miss Mollie, you gave us a big old smiley face before going off to Big School. I really wish I could have somehow gotten organised to come up and see her one more time, but give her a big kiss from me. She's going to ace big school with the great preparation you gave her! I find it just too upsetting. I was sent off to boarding school and perhaps put too much feelings of loss on dogs.
We went to the waiting area and said our goodbyes, the trainer came to pick her up and asked lots of questions. Mollie went with her with head up and tail wagging as they all do. I hate coming away with empty collar and lead, that’s the worst bit by far . They are going to phone tomorrow to let me know how well she settled overnight. The house feels very empty indeed now, Keir is fine, he’s had is dinner and is happily chewing his Kong These dogs are incredibly adaptable, it’s the humans that feel the loss every new step they take .
I feel for you. It must be terribly hard. I am sure that she will make a wonderful difference to someones life though and it will all be because of the training, care and love you have given her.
Mollie had her spay yesterday. She got back to the hospital block at school, picked up her bone and pranced around with it! She doesn’t need a collar as she hasn’t touched her stitches and they get 24 hour supervision. She’s settled in brilliantly and will start with her trainer in November once she’s recovered. That’s my girl. Now I’m weeping, I was too on edge about her having her spay in a strange place to even cry. She couldn’t stay with us as I wouldn’t be able to keep her calm. They are sooo resilient, these dogs! Work hard, play lots and make us proud lovely Mollie .
Her resilience and happy attitude are down to your hard work and love of her for her whole life. You've set her up right and now she's going to go out and do wonderful things.
I cant begin to imagine how you felt , re not being with Molly through her spay , she must be a wonderfully well balanced young dog , to keep wagging that tail, and taking all in her stride , bless her heart x
