We have a feeling, that in his previous life Casper had things just so. Because he won't settle on his sofa at night unless his blanket is on it and folded in a certain way. Otherwise, he just stands looking mournful and staring at it. Teatime is becoming quite absurd. First, he looks at you, tail wagging furiously. Ignore that and... Your laptop gets a whack (that did send my "W" flying...) Ignore that and... Two paws land indelicately on your lap...earnest face inches from yours, tail wagging furiously... Ignore that and... Yup, you now get the whole dog....in your lap...tail wagging furiously... Does anyone else have to go through this? Considered extinction training, but honestly not sure how far we are prepared to go!!!
Yeah Rory sits on my knee though, then leans over the side of the sofa upside down and Moo bites his face. They all sit by the door and look at me too.
I just get some nose bumps on the back of my leg if I'm in the kitchen preparing dinner for humans before the more important dinner! If I'm sitting down, a small black face stares at me solemnly until I get the point...
Yep ! Sam loves his big memory foam duvet, but at bang on 10.p.m. when I go to bed leaving Paul watching rubbish , Sam stands by the sofa , waiting for me to remove the cushions and tidy the blanket , then up he clambers . Woe betide I decide to stay up later, he gets quite stressed , he is clock watching right now , I swear he is ! xx
If Paul and I are both on the sofa, Pongo comes and stares. Actually, he stares pointedly at the spot on the cushion between me and the arm of the sofa. Then at me. Then at the cushion. Then at me. Until we both shuffle along so there is enough space for him to climb up next to us. Except there isn't really enough space. So he get comfy, and we get squidged.
Oh brilliant! @Bensons-dad stays up late watching rubbish too...Casper gets quite upset though if I stay up and put him to bed...I end up fiddling for ages, moving cushions, his rug..etc...whilst he just looks at me...
Mine are used to me being about at night cos I don't sleep much I'm often doing stuff late into the night and early in the morning. They just look at me like I'm crazy
Alfie wont settle until his sofa blankets are straight and my legs are under one of the blankets so he can comfortably lean against the barrier! He has us well trained lol
One of Coco's little routines he's invented is around getting up time. During the week, OH gets up first. Coco gets off the bed and waits for him to get up. Then he gets back on and lies on OH's side, next to my head while I scratch his thigh. Then he will get up just at the tooth brushing stage and wait for his morning tummy rub in the hallway. At the weekend, I get up first. Coco will stand next to my head and whine as if he's desperate to go out, until I get up, then he hops up onto my side of the bed and lies on his back for tummy rubs. He does this without fail.
Vanilla does not bother about her dinner. But if a certain red board comes out in the kitchen no matter where she is she will be there sitting and waiting. Other board colours not interested. Whilst we eat dinner she has her placee, but have no idea how she knows once I have finished she will aopear on my left side poke and rest her face on my thigh. If that does not work then the other side to do the same... Weekend breakfast is like a climbing wall, as soon as I am finished she will try and successfully climb onto my knees. Then look all smug and out tge window to say 'yes what are you doing here still, we should be out there now. Lets go' That is why Labradors are lap dogs....
The Pig sneezes at me vigorously to let me know it’s dinner time. I hadn’t come across another dog that has sneezing as part of their communication repertoire!
I get the Labrador stare! And then a short sharp, "woof!" That's me told. We had a staffie who would not settle until she was tucked in with the bathroom mat over her.
Ella stares, then steps a little closer and stares, then shuffles on the spot and stares, then rests her head on my knee and stares, then does a deep whine and stares, then nudges me with her nose and stares, then barks and stares. There's an awful lot of staring
Yes we get the staring but now it’s the two of them staring. They know exactly what time it is for kongs and tea time and I will get the stare treatment until I move, then both of them following me standing side by side staring whilst I get their kongs out or prepare their tea. It’s a hoot .
Stanleys not too bothered about tea. Breakfast however - WOW! He will not stop moving those little feet until I prepare his breakfast and he charges round doing spins until he gets it. He just does little dances on the spot as though he can't cope! He also butts my legs with his nose while following me around until I get him it. It's a good job he's adorable
Too funny...My lab sits in front of where his dinner bowl SHOULD be filled with delicious doggy chow, staring at me. It's quite polite on the whole but gets the message across
