Every day Hattie and I walk through or by Sheep and they rarely run away from her. I think the Sheep think Hattie is a Black Sheep :D

Hattie is totally at ease with Sheep and all animals, she always looks at me for a treat when in their company! BAT is a great way to train. xxx

Love, love love this photo! :inlove:

Completely second the use of BAT/LAT or as I have been using lately "look away!" All based on the same principles of counter-conditioning. I think Bramble is more genetically wired to be reactive/nervous than most labradors, so using this process from day1 has really helped.

@charlie, what a cracking good photo :) Lovely, lovely Hattie.

Absolutely agree about the BAT/LAT, whatever you call it it's very worthwhile. Cassie is quite the opposite of nervous, tending to rush in where angels fear to tread very often, but I'm really seeing the benefit of LAT. We do it with sheep aswell, and our cat, as well as passing people on walks etc. This afternoon a lady was walking through the woods, I saw Cassie walk towards her, then stop and look from me to her and back to me, then trotted back and sat in front of me :) I'm sure that would not have happened a few weeks ago.

Hattie is absolutely gorgeous,. I agree with BAT/LAT as I use it with Mabel as she is a nervous wreak around livestock. She can manage with sheep and cows at a distance now, but horses even the local miniature pony has her shaking in her boots.

Thanks Kate, I use counter-conditioning every day for all sorts of things and I truly believe it makes for a calmer, more focused, well behaved dog that's more accepting of all sorts of situations, well Hattie is Charlie has a little way to go :D xx
