Hi, our 5 and a half month old Lab pup's biting is relentless! (apart from when he is Sleepy) he is constantly at our hands arms, face whatever he can get, he's getting bigger and there's no sign of it letting up! Surely this can't be normal! Can anyone shed any light? Or has anyone been through similar? Thanks for any help
Has he still got his puppy teeth? Once Stanley got his big boy teeth it dramatically improved. I think Stanley was about 6 months when it stopped but we had to teach him biting = no fun, no biting = fun by stopping play as soon as he bit us. I think it is pretty normal for them crocodors!
Yup, it's perfectly normal. Just look through all the posts on the puppies board with people concerned about aggressive puppies, puppies drawing blood, constantly attacking them etc etc. Our lovely Labs are monsters when they're young. Hence the term "crocopup"

Haha -- very good! It will stop eventually, Cassie was a real crocopup, it's hard to believe now she's a nearly grown up 18 months!
Ella was mouthy for so long! She was a complete crocopup until at least 7/8 months and still quite bad when she was excited for a few months after that. We just stuck at the procedure where all play stopped as soon as teeth became involved and eventually it worked. Before we knew it, the scars faded and we finally felt safe in our own home
My pup is the same age as yours and he is still teething. He is nippy but we don't play with him if he starts biting us. We give him a variety of toys for strong chewers and that seems to satisfy him so he doesn't nip at us very much.
Mine is 14 weeks and despite allways having labs you forget this bit! And feel ancient and unfit in my case. Throw in a hubby who doesn't listen when I tell him what commands I use and a 19 yr old tells me I have post puppy depression! I have even been nipped on bits only hubby and gynaecologist has seen! My furry land shark is a monster first thing on a morning. Once I have been to work for 2 hours he is cute and calm, with more mouth control. Vet nurse advised me today to bung a raw carrot in his chops rather than too much Kong and other toy rewards. Omg! Carrot is puppy calm drug! Still a reward as such but 5 mins to go pee myself is heaven!
Carrots are brilliant but make such a mess, you'll be finding little carrot crumbs all over - I only give carrots outside now due to lots of tutting from my house proud hubby (who is the one who vaccuums).
Brixton used to nip and bite quite a bit as a pup until someone at the dog park gave me the key to stopping this Behavior. When playing with him, quickly go into another room and close the door as soon as he starts bitting. You’ll hear him whining on the other side and he’ll soon understand that its wrong
