I know it doesn't actually matter what the word is but ... I'm having a blank moment on what to use to send the dog out, around something & back to heel. Everyone at class uses French unless they 'steal' my shorter snappier English cues So any ideas?
I use "go round" for circling around me, "circle" for a clockwise circle around an object, and "away" for anticlockwise around an object.
I use "around" - for a clockwise circle around an object. We've not managed to master anti-clockwise so I'm yet to decide on a cue for that.
I use "passa". Sorry, that's the Spanish we use at agility. You could use "wrap". Some people use "back", but that crosses into gundoggy stuff. What is the French cue; can't you use that? I have a mixture of English and Spanish for agility
We use a mixture of Finnish and English cues. It's very useful if a cue gets poisoned to have an alternative handy. It also helps when choosing sounds that are distinct from one another. But please let us know what the French cue is, I would like to start using it. The dog doesn't care about language
I too use a mixture of French & English cues depending on the 'snappiness' of it. The French is 'fait le tour', 'Poteau' or 'Piquet'. Thanks for the ideas
I'll take the Piquet, if you don't mind. Very suitable as our boy is called Nelson. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Piquet for those who have never followed F1)
