I know!! I know!! The mop you need is the Bona spray mop. (And yes it does need to be Bona, for its superior maneouverability and consistent mist of spray. No need to keep buying the branded floor cleaner though, I just refill it with ordinary flash) You are welcome.
I knew I would love this thread the second I saw it! Already Googling Bona spray mops. We just use a bog standard mop and bucket. Do you rinse the pad thingy during cleaning? I'm thinking three dogs with dirty paws make floors pretty grubby!
You don't rinse the pad during cleaning, just put in the wash after. I bought a couple of spare pads so that I always have one clean. All the liquid that you need to clean the floor comes from the spray in the mop. It works very well for one muddy dog, so think it should cope with yours. And because it's so easy to use it's easy to keep the floor clean because you can give it a quick wash in a couple of minutes so do it more often ( in theory) I'm not on commission, honest. Just love a well-designed product!
This is what I find with the Dyson Animal I have; because it's cordless and lightweight, it gets zipped round every day, compared to the old big vacuum cleaner, which was a hassle to bring out more than every few days. You're doing a good job of selling it
@blackandwhitedog , that's a fab picture of Jess in your avatar, she looks positively regal And I bow to your superior knowledge of mops OP -- excuse me
Actually my husband bought it - he did some serious research on mops and chose that. I was completely aghast at the price but lo and behold, it's worth it!
Why thank you. She is a very regal dog! (Sorry OP, I will stop now and let the conversation go back to mops!)
I had a steam cleaning mop for a while it was really good but then started leaking. Normal bucket and mop for us. I use hot water from the kettle with detergent.
I have a Vax steam mop. It is pretty good and I like how quickly the floors dry. http://www.vax.com.au/products/steam-cleaners/vax-steam-fresh-pet-steam-cleaner-vx23
I have bought 3 different brands of steam cleaner in the last 5 years, and all have given up between the 6 and 18 month mark. They work great on both tiles and laminate, but I get fed up of them dying and not being able to return them or find the receipt.I've resorted to an old fashioned mop and bucket with disinfectant, and I clean the head with boiling water and replace it from time to time. I spot clean the floors with a spray and microfibre mop inbetween. Steam cleaners are my nemesis.... the idea is great and yes they dry so quick but have had too many fail on me now...
Well I wouldn't have minded if i was using mine every day but believe me i wasn't life's too short to mop a floor every day. Or every other day. Or....
I am tempted to get one - does anyone use them on Amtico flooring? At the moment I use a Vileda mop and bucket with very hot water and flash.
The mop you need is the Bona spray mop. I have ordered this mop through Lakeland. I had a discount voucher if I spend over £30 of £5. I also had a Lakeland voucher of £20. Plus they have a 3 year guarantee if it fails me. Plus it comes with a refill. I have laminate and vinyl flooring. I brought the deep clean as an extra pad.
