This sounds stupid even as I'm writing it but here goes! Ive a tin of sardines in the cupboard but how to people transport them on a walk. In my normal pouch bag, the smell would never come out and do your hands smell yucky for hrs? I know this sounds ridiculous!

Not ridiculous at all! Indeed this topic has been debated long and hard on here in the past. One good option is those plastic reusable baby food pouches. You can purée the sardines, then squeeze them straight in the dog’s mouth. They can go in the dishwasher or, because i am lazy, I just use a tiny little Tupperware tub, and if I don’t want to give all of it at once, I shake a bit out onto the lid and put it on the ground for her like a little platter! But it seems like what ever you do, you will get a subtle whiff of sardines on your hands, I think it is inescapable!
Not ridiculous at all! There have been many discussions about this very topic! I believe that the general consensus is that you need to puree the sardines and put them into a reusable squeeze tube/pouch. Then you just squeeze a bit out into their mouth as you need. I'm sure someone can dig out the link to another thread where detailed testing was conducted
Thanks everyone. Tubes mentioned above out of stock so I've got a small Tupperware pot out of the cupboard and going to try that. Deep breath, hope he likes them!
I found in one of the pound discount stores refillable baby pouches. They needed a bit of care when filling. Having used sardines for a bit I found frankfurters were easier and just as acceptable and as effective.
Well this thread is very timely for me -I'm thinking of upping the anti to sardines but have been put off doing so by the practicality of doing so, thanks very much for all suggestions. Frankfurters do fit the bill really well for Cassie too, but feel a change is in order right now. Sometimes I use those pouches of cat food, they're good for squeezing out and you don't have to touch the stuff ( )
Exactly what I use. I just open the box and grab a chunk with my fingers. But now I feel quite the amateur compared to the others TIP: Leave all the oil or brine in the can. Even in a tupperware, it somehow manages to leak out
