I've got a horrible cold and have completely lost my voice (yes, you can probably hear my OH cheering in the background ) so I've spent most of the day on the couch. You would not believe the sulking, huffing and puffing coming from Ella all day. At one point she just stood in front of me and rested (more of a heavy pushing) her chin on my knee, giving me the sad eyes. Honestly!
Simple lead walk this morning. It was really drizzly and very relaxing. Coco walked well and we played a few games as we went. Feeling very good.
Having one of those weeks where I feel like a bad Doggy mum! Stanleys being left longer than I'd like (about 4 hours without a break). Then when I get in it's dark and I daren't take him for a walk in his usual spot - it's a nature reserve with no lighting. So we can only walk round the streets and he's bored and getting frustrated and sits down. Then I have jobs to do when I get in so he's still not getting my attention. He's seems happy enough, sat snoozing away on the couch. I think I'm going to skip the walks and play some games instead. I'm hoping he'll find that more enjoyable
My two are missing out on evening walks too now it's dark so early, but they seem to have adjusted. As long as they have their supper (and preferably a bit of a play) they're quite happy to snooze for the rest of the evening, so I don't know why I worry...!
We're staying with my brother for a couple of days for mum's 93'd birthday party. I let Holly out for a poop and when I looked into the garden she had gone. Closer inspection showed a hole in his hedge and paw prints in the mud. I then noticed that his neighbours garden didn't have a gate and there was no sound from the garden. PANIC! Ruth went straight out to the front of the house to see if Holly had gone to the chippy a few doors away. I grabbed a smelly treat and started the recall whistle. After a few minutes (it seemed longer) Holly came trotting back through the hole in the hedge with a windfall apple in her mouth. My heart started beating again. From now on she only goes into the garden on a lead.
I am currently begging OH if we can buy a 6 month old English lab. Ohhhhh I want him so badly. But then I also think, am I crazy? Axel is still very much a puppy in some ways, such as stealing my shoes and tea towels today.
Vanilla is 18months and steals anything that takes her fancy or is going...of course purely for attention
I guess I should be happy that he hasn’t ripped a tea towel in half lately. He just jumps on the counter and runs off with them lol. But OH said no to another dog because he wants a .... baby.... hehe. I want one one day as well but not yet! lol
OH has just spent the last ten minutes trying to balance a treat on Monty's nose. I could have predicted the outcome, many treats eaten, none balanced on nose. Pick your battles OH. This isn't a worthwhile one.
