I'm putting my tree up on Sunday. I've decided one a new theme - silver and white. OH wasn't best pleased because last year I insisted on purple and silver. I told him a few baubles wouldn't be expensive. Nearly £100 later I'm ready for my new theme. OH is like
At least you can reuse the silver from last year, if you'd decided on red and green that would have been £200
Nah.....everyone knows that an elf will drown a baby reindeer for every day before December that someone has a Christmas tree up....
Ours went up last weekend. We took the dogs and a chainsaw, and went to a local Christmas Tree Farm with friends and relatives. We forgot to bring a tape measure, and the farm had a surfeit of big trees. We cut 5' feet off ours after we got it home, and it is still 10' tall. We cut 4 trees total for the group. All of our trees were $25. each regardless of size or variety. Oregon is the Christmas Tree Capital of the world. Our dogs pretty much ignore the trees, but we have to be careful about the presents under the tree, especially if someone included any kind of food.
Oh I can't read this thread, trees up now, already, are you mad? our tree goes up one week before Christmas We have silver, white, glass and gold ornaments. I bought mine in the sale after Christmas a few years ago and saved a packet! x
I steadfastly wait until first advent, which is this weekend... The first Christmas markets open this weekend, and it is cold with a good chance of snow!! Bring on the Gluehwein and Lebkuchen...
Looking at the calendar, mine will either go up on the 22nd or 23rd - this being the weekend before christmas. Bah humbug!
I have already started on the glühwein (well, not this morning yet, but you know what I mean!) but we don’t get Lebkuchen round this way! They are now on my shopping list for when I go to the UK
