Glad to hear Basil is eating, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

That's a big vet bill  , but our boys (and girls) are worth it.

    That's great news! :)

I've been wondering about him, so really happy to see your post. Did they ever figure out what it was or what caused it?

Yes very much worth it :) It's shocking to have to pay the massive vet bill up front before being reimbursed, is that standard? We have insurance but I've never actually had to make a claim, knock on wood.

The vets think it was either colitis or gastoerointeritis. I don't think the exact cause was ever discovered!

Goodness, glad Basil's person was able to manage with that massive bill, I could imagine it being very scary otherwise. Poor little pup, so glad he's home and on the mend

Yeah, both of those diagnosis seem to be doctors' way of saying, "Something serious to do with your digestion, but we don't really know what". Applies to humans AND dogs. But the main thing for Basil is that he's on the mend! :)

That's fantastic news, poor Basil is a little thin but I'm sure his Dad will feed him up. What a traumatic time for them both. xxx

Awww...what a sweet face. He's looking a bit thin as you say, but is sure to bounce back to his old self soon. Very glad this story has a happy ending! :)
