    ..... that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had a dog!

Walking Lady this morning we bumped into my farmer friend opening up the yard. Big bang from the (he did say what it was called but I missed it) machine we use to distribute silage to the cattle so it's bust. So I ended up helping him and his wife feed the cattle. They are all in the barns for the winter. Lovely!

None of this would have happened without my dog, because it was through Lady I got to know him in the first place - gundog training in his fields, followed by beating and picking up on his shoot, then being a gun on the shoot.

I have a vague but pleasant smell of silage on me as a type this. Bliss really!

There are so many people I would never have met without having had a dog.
And for someone a bit social phobic, dogs give me a never ending topic for conversation if I'm struggling :D

Nice smell! But a nice reason for it.

Without Harley I wouldn't get out much (apart from work). I have made some fantastic friends through walking her.

Really?!!!! Your farmer friend must make excellent quality silage! Not a smell I relish in my house I must admit.
But yes, I absolutely agree with the sentiment of your post, Cassie has brought me new friends both real and virtual :)
