    Hey guys,

Just wondered if anyone had a similar thing with there puppy.

We have a chocolate lab boy, he came to us with a very dark coat like mummy - over the last week his head has gone a lighter brown  and his body is still dark brown.

Makes him stand out for sure haha but just wondered is this a normal thing, i know they can take on different coats depending on the time of year and sunlight can bleach it tho in the midst of winter, not sure this would apply?

Only changes hes had in the last 2 weeks is moving onto a raw diet 80:10:10 from
    https://www.naturaldogsdirect.co.uk/ mixed in with smartbarf

I am worried maybe his diet is not correct still, maybe the quality of the raw food? He is gaining well though ever since it.

    Cheers

Yellows and chocolates do come in many different shades , whereas black is black and that's that ! I doubt the food has anything to do with the changes to colour , maybe the rest of him will also lighten to a match his head ? Maybe ask your Vet, if its something that concerns you , do you have a photo to share ?

My chocolate puppy has a slightly lighter top of head than body. It's quite normal, so don't worry. She was a winter puppy, too, and it showed quite early on.

It looks kinda cute but same time like hes got a head of another dog :D. Really only worried about his diet playing a role. Hes coat was rough and non shiny when we got him and it went shiny / smooth on wainwrights kibble, though he was pooing alot and gaining little weight. Now on raw his weight is going up fast but as the coat seemed to revert slightly just had me concerned. We've been to the vets far to many times in December and the bills are racking up.

I did go to do a picture but i dont see any option to upload? other than via social media or providing a direct website link, maybe im missing a trick

Thanks guys, ill just take it as its apart of him and no signs to anything else :)

There are two options; one is to host the image elsewhere (Flickr, Imgur, public photo on Facebook) and then put the image link into a BBCode ([img]link goes here...[/img]). Or secondly is to become a forum supporter which costs £10 a year and allows you to upload photos of up to 1MB directly.

My choccie girl gains a golden crown (as the sun shines on it) at times depending upon the shed status of her coat. As a pup her coat was noticeably black tipped which developed into a rich dark brown
