https://imgur.com/uDPLeXq Merlot is the latest addition to our family. She's been with us for a week now & has been doing tremendously well. She's from working stock and seems to pick up simple commands very, very quickly (sit, no, toilet (when in garden). She lets us know when she wants to go out for a poo. However, wee wees are a slightly different story. We tend to let her out every hour, and if we say 'toilet' to her then she will nearly always go. However, every now and then she will pee inside - usually in the kitchen which is not a room she's hugely familiar with yet (i.e. not her den). We are trying to keep her confined to a smaller part of the house & when she can prove that she won't wee there, we'll extend the area a little more. Is there anything else we can do?
Hi and welcome to the forum. An hour is a long time for a very young pup to hold their bladder. I'd start taking her out every 20 minutes, plus after every meal, every time she drinks, every time she wakes, and every time she finishes playing. It's a lot at first, but it doesn't last long
Welcome from me , what a gorgeous puppy she is ! I was just about to suggest the same as @snowbunny , little bladders struggle to hang on , take her out a little more often , it gets better x
Welcome from Holly and me. We put newspaper by the door and found that puppies would use it in preference to bare floor. It worked with three out of four of the dogs we've owned so it might be worth a try.
Hello and welcome from me, Wispa (6) and Tuppence (4). Yes, do take her outside a little more frequently during the day. Some newspaper near the door could help too, but she might just end up shredding it or dragging it around!
