Hi, my pup is now 4 1/2 months old and is still on 4 feeds a day. She’s happy etc. but I was just wondering how many feeds you give your pups? I’ve been thinking about putting her down to 3 feeds now her stomach is more mature but obviously there’s no rush. The breeder told me to feed her 3 Times a day but I increased it to 4 as her poo was often soft to runny however there’s no problem now she’s that little bit older. Just wondering what you’re doing with similar age pups.
I do, sometimes over two weeks depending on the pup. Mollie took ages to adjust to the bigger meals so I moved a gram at a time!
I reduce puppy meals by adding 5 grams to each of the other meals each week, so a slow process but allows tummies to adapt to the extra food or reduction in quantity. I also start changing mealtime to prepare for the loss of one.
As others have said, it is better to do it slowly, especially if your pups has had issues with their tummy before. I done it over 2 weeks and it worked out.
