Hope Moo is feeling better and you. I think they know if drugs don't agree with them, Vanilla is the same after a while she will reject any medication.
Oh Moo does from the very first one is a thing of deep personal commitment and conviction. Don't swallow anything unless you want to or tastes of poop. Getting her to take med is hard work
Lots of love to you and Moo. Went through this ourselves with our lovely Solstice. A bit of a roller coaster ride. Thinking of you. xxx.
She had a good night and ate a very tiny breakfast. Everything is normal she will not eat large bits of food and spits it out if she feels any resistance on her teeth. Her weird cough is worse. I'm hoping she's not sucked food or drugs into her lungs I don't think so though. When I do get breakfast she hides she doesn't want drugs.lve left off all meds until we see the get later.
A dear old friend - human - had it with all her heart drugs. Threw them all in the swimming pool - water turned pink! She lived happily for about another 10 or so years, well into her 80s - about 1-2 extra dog years! Maybe Moo knows best? Poor dear, and poor you.
It worries me that her own bl**dy mindedness us going to affect her treatment. But that's Moo, she was born this way I'll just have to find away round her imperial ways.
Mentally she's not ready for the end but physically I'm beginning to wonder. There's more going on than the chronic health issues I'm very suspicious of the throat thing.
I've never met one person who's had a good tramadol experience, that stuff is nasty *never again* Poor Moo, hope she feels better, or that you can at least make her comfortable
Tramadol was awful for Belle - her stomach was OK, but she went off her legs, she just couldn't stand up. It took a few doses before I put 2 & 2 together - I felt bad.
Sounds a lot like my old Billy at the end of his life. He refused more and more food... at the end virtually all he would eat was cat food out of those little pouches... Oh, and bits of steak, steak was ok by him . He went on for a long time, as he seemed happy and not in any pain, though wobbly on his legs and a bit incontinent. One day he looked at me and let me know he's had enough. Right up until that day, he was happy to continue pottering along. Enjoy every day with your lovely girl! Don't fret about what she eats, just give her whatever makes her happy. Hugs to you both. xx
She a different dog this pm she's running up the garden and in full barky voice. Still a bit breathless stiff but really happy to see me and full of cheek.
It's a roller-coaster, isn't it. I hope the 'ups' continue to outnumber to 'downs' for Moo (and you too).
Well then her renal function has actually improved even the vet was astonished. I just laughed. Her anaemia is worse though and the throat thing is too. The sickness is due to her renal function and possibly the anti biotics. The tramadol and anti biotics are stopped for the moment but it maybe necessary to start the tramadol again for her pain as there are few options. Her cellulitis has improved so we are leaving that and will take her in if it gets worse. It's just a case of management and finding the balance for Moo.. she's good today but still finding eating hard. She's lost a kilo but is bright and ok. The vet commented how aware and alert she was. he could see her inquisitiveness and interest in the room. We are going to continue to monitor her and manager her carefully. she's better today that's all that matters. The vet explained that this may happen again she will have good days and bad. Amazing little dog.
My mantra with Sam was always one day at a time . As long as you can manage her conditions , she is comfortable and happy , then today is a good day x
