Two Socks is now 10 months old. she is growing fine, and plays great at home. the problem is that i have been taking her to training class now for almost two to three months. we only go once a week, each time we go, she starts to become over anxious, jumping and nervousness . she gets redness in her eyes and she pulls trying to go her own way. she even pee's and poop's . after we get to the trainer she wants to be petted and loved. he has me walk her around for a few minutes to try to help her calm down. she doesn't act this way after he starts working with him. i don't know what to do with her. i took her yesterday to get her grooming done and i tried making sure she pooped before we left. she peed and acted the same. any advice would be greatly appreciated, puppymom
What happens during the training class? You say that "he starts working with him" - do you mean the trainer takes your dog from you? Normally in training classes, you will be handling your own dog. What sort of training is it? Do you use a clicker? Treats? How do you teach the dog to do perform behaviours?
I would say that you need to get her out more in the public. She is fearful cause she doesn't see these things every day. Dogs needs to be introduced to all kinds of things every day. Once a week is not enough for her to get over her fear.
I don’t think the OP was saying their pup only goes out once a week, rather they go to the training class once a week.
