Morning all. Jax has started to show a little bit of blood on his toys after chewing. He is 23 weeks at the moment and expecting him to lose his baby teeth at any time. Is this normal whilst going through this process, ie, baby teeth to adult?
Yes, perfectly normal. Maisy had big gaps and lots of blood for a few weeks whilst teething. One time playing with a lovely clean white dog, she left the poor thing all red and covered in blood, I had to reassure the owner that it was Maisy's blood. Then all of a sudden she had a full mouth of adult teeth - I don't know where they came from!
Yes, very normal at this age. Here is a good article - https://www.thelabradorsite.com/teeth-and-puppy-teething-ages-and-stages/
Thanks Shaz. And whining too? He normally only whines when he needs out, or meal time coming up, but whining more now. You get this too?
Some pups whine when teething others don't. It can be a painful time for pups, just like teething in human babies. The advantage of puppies is that it is a quicker process
No whining, no other signs at all with Maisy but they are all different. If it was me I would definately be whining!
We found one of little Joy's in a pile of puppy poo on the patio. That one wasn't going under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy!
