We've been doing a bit of scentwork at training class, I don't know whether because it's mostly at the end of the class or just that rewards that may have been dropped by others are more interesting than a tissue in a jar that smells of me, but I think it's fair to say she hasn't embraced the concept Today is my birthday, and as I was putting my cards up I remembered how last year Cassie had repeatedly jumped up to the windowsill and got down a certain card, it was only later that I realised it was the one my son had given to me. I wondered if she'd do it again , and sure enough I was in the kitchen making my porridge and in she saunters carrying the card that he'd sent !! And she's done it again, just to prove she does know what she's doing It happens to be a picture of a black Lab. These days she doesn't bother with things on the windowsill, so I don't think it's just coincidence. So endearing.
Yes, it is sweet and adorable, I just love it when they do things that really highlight the different way their senses operate to ours, I never tire of it. Except maybe if it involves poo eating ! Thanks for your birthday wishes, took Cass for her first long walk post spay which was a lovely start. We've no covering of snow here, but very dry underfoot and cold, not a breathe of wind. Now we are reclining by the fire and I plan to start the Forum book club book.
Happy birthday! Heh, it's nice when they use their noses for good and not evil Is your son Cassie's favourite human?
@Emily, isn't that funny, am I right in thinking Ella,s birthday is the day before cassie's , 20th April?
Thank you all for your birthday wishes, it was incidental to the story reallyi Yes @Xena Dog Princess she loves him lots, and my daughter too, if she calls in when i'my out walking cassie , she, cassie, picks up the scent as we pass her car , I can see her sniffing the air and then her tail goes like the clappers before we've got into the garden! Then she bursts into the house "I know you're there, i'm home" don't you just love them?"
