Hi could someone please advise me on how much Mason nearly 8months should be eating (was weighed beginning Jan at 22.5kg)
I currently give him about 225g of k9 Optimum large breed puppy food twice a day and he does get extras such as treats, carrot, a chew and a Kong

Is that 225g split twice or 450g in total?

My fully grown lab is 24.5kg and he gets about 50g in his bowl on a morning and 50g at tea time. Then he gets about another 100g a day as treats and kongs :)

Just had a quick look at their feeding guides, so I am presuming you are feeding the lower end range for 9-month large puppy according to their recommendations which are based on age/weight. So according to the link below look like this: 20 – 30kg - 560 – 890g.

    https://www.jollyes.co.uk/k9-optimum-puppy-large-breed-chicken-12kg.html

However, this is just a rough manufacturer's guide, and tbh it looks rather on the high side. The weight increase of your pup sounds on a paper a little on the high side from January (22.5kg) to over 25kgs now. When labrador puppies hit around 8 months, their weight increase should generally start to plateaux. It does though very much depend on the individual puppy.

What does your puppy look like body wise? Looking at your puppy from different angles, as well as feeling for a light covering over ribs ( see below) can also be helpful in determining the ideal weight of your puppy.

Tbh I have been measuring his food but probably not accurate enough as he seemed unsettled again today so I contacted his breeder and she said her girls were on double amount plus a bit more. So then I became a bit concerned he wasn't eating enough. I found the feeding guidelines confusing.
I was estimating his weight, but I'm sure you are right.
He looks well and you can feel his ribs but not overly

    Hi it's 225 split twice.
So do you think I'm giving him too much if you feed your dog 50g at breakfast and I do 225g?
The breeder just got in contact with me and the 2 puppies she kept are on 600g twice a day which we think is a lot. Just so confused. Plus lunchtime is just half a scoop and a frizen King. Cannot just give him nothing

Don't forget you have a puppy and not a full grown dog, amounts are usually reduced at around 12 - 18 months old. It really depends on your dog, as even puppies from the same litter may have varying nutritional requirements.
If you puppy looks and feels OK, it probably is absolutely fine.

I know but he is chunky choc lab and I know I don't over feed him. I have increased his meals by a small amount and will see how he gets on.
