I had come home from work today as I was feeling a bit pants. I had a rest until I was feeling a little better and took Mr Rory for a walk. I turned the corner into the entry to the park and was shocked to find 6 blokes furiously and silently punching the crap out of each other on the car park. I turned right round and bravely ran away. I was really scared but I saw some parkies so I went up them they were calling the police. I stayed with them till the blokes split up and ran off. Then got on with my walk my heart was jumping about a bit. It's not very Disney round here I meet one of the dog walkers I know and she said the parkies had got the reg number of the car. Looks like a drug sellers falling out again. I had a nice walk with Rory and got home to the house of wee thanks to little Moo.
Oh my goodness @SwampDonkey there is never a dull moment in your neighbourhood! What is a parkie? I abhor violence or confrontation if any kind do running away is exactly the right thing to to. Poor Moo and her wee's
You really do NOT live in a nice place Swampy. How about buying matching personal alarm and pepper spray for your OH's special day?
I always run. a parkies is a park worker. We know them all as we see them most days so we are all friendly they were scared too. It's pretty ridiculous at the moment. There's some sort of drugs turf disagreement going on and the police are around a lot. It's not that bad normally just a bit crazy at the moment.
I won't be going that way for a while. It was just so weird it was so silent bare knuckle boxing tracksuit hoodie style. One bloke looked like some sort of massive concrete grey ape.
He's a maths professor right? Does he have a favourite mathematician or something equally nerdy? Get him a coffee/tea mug with a picture of said idol on it.
Physics Prof that's even more nerdy I saw the sweetest little dog today it was a lab crossed with something tiny. He looked like a miniature lab. So lovely. I'm a hopeless case
Today I noticed Coco dries faster if he's been swimming in the sea than when he's wet through from the rain. His coat felt nice today too - I used to hose him down after a salty-water swim thinking he felt "sticky", but I didn't hose him today as the garden is already too wet - he felt lovely and soft when he dried off. Coco doesn't have that really waterproof-feeling coat that a Labrador has.
I saw a dog like that last summer, it was a lab x jack russell terrier. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and I spent days searching for puppies online of that mix that looked like a tiny lab!
I woke up this morning to one of the cats drinking from my glass :/ I take a glass of water to bed every night. Have me and the cats been drinking from the same glass FOR YEARS? I guess I've got to be grateful that I've already had toxoplasmosis
Mmm this is why we take water bottles to bed now. I used to be woken by our old cat lapping from the glass, and in the fuzziness of the night I would think 'must remember not to drink from that glass' but I often did. Though same cat used to drool over my face being stroked so I got his germs anyway. Sounds nasty. Can be v dangerous and cause blindness, can't it?
Oh! I do wonder if little Joy has a bit of something other than Labrador in her ancestry. She is so petite and dainty. Also very graceful. A friend of mine feels she's destined to be a ballerina. No matter what, she's my GoodGirlJoy and I love her lots.
At least I'm not the only one who shares too much with my cats! I said to OH "well I guess it's water bottles to bed from now on" Is it that dangerous if you're not pregnant!? I only found out that I had the antibodies when I had galandular fever, the doctor was surprised but didn't make a big deal out of it. I do know that it can cause stillbirths in pregnant women, though. I knew that I had the antibodies when I was pregnant so I continued cleaning the kitty litter as usual because I just assumed I wasn't at risk?
Just googled out of interest and you're right that it's generally only really dangerous if pregnant but occasionally causes problems if immune systems are already compromised. Had assumed it would be present in dog poo too but dogs don't get a mention.
I saw that horse and thought it's definitely worth a punt, so I put a bet on it. My annual visit to the bookies. Well hopefully I'll be back in on Monday to collect my winnings.
