    Hi there
I have a 4yr old and now new 11 week old puppy always had flea and worming from my vets but with 2 to consider wondered what was the best shop brought for both of them. I have googled it but there’s so many just want one that does the job and a good one at that.

    Hi Tina,
I would seek advice from the vet. Different medication may be recommended in different areas depending upon resistance patterns.

A lot of vets do plans where you pay monthly for all the routine vaccines and treatments, and may make it more affordable.
It can sometimes also be more affordable to ask you vet for a private prescription (there will be a charge for this maybe £10-£15) and then use an online pet drug supplier such as Pet Drugs Online (there are several around) to actually buy the prescription drugs from. You are entitled to do that, you don't have to take the drugs from the vet, although appreciate it might feel a bit awkward.

In NZ at least I can buy flea treatments for a massive discount from online vets - a Seresto collar for $72 versus $112 at the vet's for example. I still buy my wormer from the vet's because it's only slightly more expensive and I do like to support them where possible. You don't need a prescription for flea and worm, so just find the cheapest stockist and go from there. My online stockist always sends a choccie for me and a treat for my dog/cats, it's lovely!
