Hi everyone. I became a member on 1 April after finding out that my service dog would be a Labrador. I waited for over a year, but 6 April I finally got my dog. His name is Frodo, he is almost one years old, has a black coat and is so sweet, gentle and loving. The first couple of days (weeks) have been exhausting - learning the different commands and simply getting to know the new member of my household. He is a sensitive and attentive dog and I feel so incredibly lucky that he was the dog that I got paired with. I look forward to being an active member of this lovely forum. Kaktus.
Oh Frodo, so handsome! Welcome from me and Xena in NZ. A service Labrador in NZ recently saved a young boy from drowning - the dog was at the pool with his owner, when he noticed a young boy who'd got his foot stuck and couldn't get out of the pool, he couldn't keep his head out of the water. This service dog alerted everybody and the boy was quickly rescued. Such amazing dogs
