He must be in seventh heaven, can you imagine how he must feel, he now has his very own person and freedom. I adore him and you for having him, Hope your flat day became much happier when you see what joy your are giving Carbon.

These are the happiest videos I've seen in a long time. If I'm ever feeling down, I know what'll cheer me up.

All that rolling and splashing and shaking was a joy to watch, he's so so happy!

I'm so sorry to hear about your job situation, and I hope that you get it resolved soon. Is a move back to the US on the cards, or do you want to stay in Europe?

I would like to stay here. Though by culture I'll always be an American, the US hasn't felt like home in a long time. But we'll see... I really have no clue what's going to happen. At least for the summer and early autumn, my plan is to stick it out here. Legally my residency permit doesn't depend on my being employed, so that's a bright side.

He really is his own little ray of sunshine and it cheers me up that he's cheering other people up, too. That's real 'pup power', right? :)

I can only imagine what he'll be like once we get his health issues sorted. I have a feeling he'll run me ragged. And frankly that would be a good thing!

Such a good start to the day catching up with this! It looks as if he’s come into your life at the right time. If the videos can make us smile, the real thing must be just wonderful! :)

I have to agree, my Lab is the only cheering thing in my life and seeing Carbon discovering what life is about and getting so much joy gives me a lift as well.

It was a very long day of vet exams and other excitement for Carbon and me today. The good news is that Carbon's heart is just fine, he's NOT that overweight now as he's lost 4 kgs (low muscle tone because of being in a cage most of his puppyhood is a bigger issue) and the vet recommended by Miracle Miry was really a nice guy who took lots of time examining him. I've now got good guidelines on diet, exercise levels and a bunch of other good advice. I feel like we're on the right road. We'll go back to the same vet in two weeks to see how he is doing.

Normally I'm not big on photos of my old mug, but my father's been bugging me to take a photo with Carbon to have a better idea of how large (or small) he is. So Miry obliged by snapping this on our beach walk before our vet appointment. Miry (and the vet) are in Puerto Santa Maria, about 40 minutes north of where I live - that's in the background. As for scale, I'm only 5'4", so as you can see, Carbon is a 'fun size' Labrador. :)

That is a beautiful photo and your dad will love it :)

And don't black dogs just look amazing in purple?! I need to buy some purple kit for the Xeenster.

Even though technically my favourite color is blue, it seems that literally everything that I currently own that isn't black/grey is some shade of purple. Which means Carbon and I are very 'matchy matchy' to kind of silly levels. :D

But I agree, I think black dogs look amazing in purple. Xena would look quite dashing in some 'purple kit'.

Oh, and feedback this morning from my father on the photo: "You really can't see black dogs' eyes in photos, can you?". Spoken like a man who is used to seeing those Rottie eyebrows in every photo of mine for the last 20 years. ;)
